A mediocre experience especially considering the price point. With 2/4 family members pleased, I personally was dissatisfied. Lets start with the positive sides: Ordering experience was nice, even despite the rush-hour timing. Rather quick preparation time. Wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The one thing that saved Big Horn from one star is the mushroom sauce. It was honestly great, both taste and consistency wise. The deserts looked ok, didn't order.
Now for the downsides: The amount of diverse additional plate-pieces resulted in a slight inconvenience due to little space left on the table. Theres little space on the plates itself due to a plating with two additional dishes on top of it. Big horn-style potatos were saturating, but tasted no different from home baked potatoes. I was even able to recognize the spice used, one you buy at the regular supermarket. Spice was lacking and badly distributed overall. Meat pieces were of a good choosing, but the end product disappointed me. The 3 of us ordered "medium" steaks, but ended up with 3 totally different steaks, mine was especially raw. I ordered deep fried onions as the side dish. The crust was just too hard to bite in, as if they were made the day before and just reheated after. The broccoli both looked and tasted as of it was just dipped into boiling water for 5 seconds and plated. Also raw and watery. The fried eggplant also was watery. The restaurant-made bernaise sauce had an utterly unpleasant foamy texture with just as suspicious taste. The onion bread had the same issue as the onion rings (number 4). Kid got himself a burger. It only consisted of just two buns and a piece of meat. So dry and with no additions, nor sauce to it. All in all the dish can be looked upon as a combination of separate foods thrown on to one plate.
The combined experience is...
Read moreExtremely unwelcoming f&b manager with her name starting with 'F' we met today. Told us to go next door to dolly dimples instead (saw us coming in with 2 children & immediately shook her head) she said they are very full today and might hv to wait but we were ok but seems she wanted to offer tables to adults groups instead who will most likely order lotsa alcohol on a Saturday night. Super disgusted! Will never recommend to anyone to go there! I suppose u will find better restaurants in the area! Sorry big horn! You just lost...
Read moreWe had dinner there. I had an 200 g entrecôte (rib-eye steak) with garlic oven potato's. The service didn't speak a lot of English, so was the conversation sort of hard with him. But the meat was of superior quality and was well cooked. It tasted very well and was very tender. When you order you are given a piece of paper on which you have to write your order by yourself. On the table is an electronic device to interact with the waiters (unfortunate it was written in norwegian, so we didn't...
