The Blue Taj indisk restaurant — Restaurant in Skien

I love Indian food and have actually travelled to Mumbai just to experience the food and buy kilos of spices. So when I visited The Blue Taj I was expecting a reasonable food experience at resonable prices, but this did not happen. Yes, the prices were indeed reasonable but the food was not. It was AMAZING. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and every bite was an explosion of taste. The last time I had Indian food this good was in India. Perfectly balanced spices in a rich, thick creamy sauce with tender juicy lamb made my visit here unforgettable. Was it perfect? No. The plates were cold & the background music was pop instead of traditional Indian. But the amazing food more than made up for this. Would I eat here again? You bet! I was not impressed at all. The food didn't taste like Indian food. It kinda tasted of nothing. We waited for ever to get served and more than an hour on our mediocre food. Vi var her på en vanlig fredag ettermiddag og bestilte mat. Vi ventet i over en time før vi gav beskjed om at her måtte noe være galt. Bord som hadde bestilt etter oss fikk mat servert og når vi tok opp dette med servitøren så fikk vi beskjed at hun kunne ikke gjøre noe med det- hun var bare en som tok ut maten!!! Vi fikk gitt klar beskjed om at dette ikke var akseptabelt. Maten kom i etapper. Først kald ris og så litt etter litt resten av maten. Vi hadde show på Ibsenhuset og måtte reise uten å få nytt maten eller spist opp det siste som ankom. Fikk beklagelse av ny servitør og maten til halv pris, men det veier ikke opp for en veldig dårlig opplevelse. Kommer ikke tilbake hit og vil heller ikke anbefale andre å dra hit for indisk.
