Entry & Service: The host seemed a little unsure about where to seat me at first, but once I sat down, there was already a glass on the table and the waiter immediately offered water — a proper touch of hospitality. Every staff member who passed by was polite, smiling, and clearly proud of their work. The manager was present on the floor, guiding the team when needed and even stepping in to help customers personally — exactly how a restaurant should run. The staff had a friendly rapport, joking lightly with one another while staying professional. Lovely atmosphere.
Food: I ordered the grilled entrecôte with fries and salad. I asked for medium rare, and to my surprise, they used “medium+” and “medium–” to describe their doneness levels — something I’ve never heard before, but fair play to them, it worked. The entrecôte arrived cooked perfectly — juicy, packed with flavour, and beautifully seasoned. The fries were spot-on: crisp, golden, not too salty, just how they should be.
Timing: The food arrived in about 15 minutes or less, depending on how busy the restaurant was — impressive timing for freshly grilled steak.
Dessert: For dessert, I went with the homemade Madeira chocolate fondant served with vanilla ice cream. The presentation was spot-on — simple yet elegant. The combination of the warm, rich fondant, creamy ice cream, and fresh fruit was absolutely divine. Dessert came within 10 minutes, again depending on how full the restaurant was.
Beer & Drinks: The beer selection was excellent — strong, full of flavour, and clearly well looked after. They pour their beers with levers instead of push-button taps, which I absolutely love. It shows proper craftsmanship and gives the staff more control and skill in their pours. Brilliant touch.
Cleanliness & Ambience: The restaurant is spotless — tables, floors, and even the cutlery gleam. The only minor downside was a few small fruit flies, which can happen depending on the season. Otherwise, the place is immaculate.
Price: Yes, it’s on the expensive side — but honestly, the quality of the food, drinks, and service makes it worth every penny. You’re paying for skill, precision, and flavour — and that’s exactly what you get.
Final Verdict: A beautifully run establishment with attentive staff, incredible food, and genuine passion behind every plate. A few small details to tighten up, but overall —...
Read moreWow! What a find. We found Bowlers while visiting a local coffee shop, and decided it looked ‘interesting’. We were NOT dissatisfied. As a couple of self professed foodies, we could not have been more delighted. We had the braised lamb shanks and the roast duck. Both were incredible. Every detail on the plate was done perfectly. The lamb was as tender and flavorful as any i have ever had, and my wife raved about the duck (I sampled it, it was tender, moist and so flavorful). The owner (Katarzyna) stopped by our table, and she was just lovely to talk to. Her energy and spirit are infectious. If you are in the area, you MUST...
