Visited Castello on April 19th, 2025, around 8:30 PM with a friend. We were looking for a quiet evening with some non-alcoholic drinks. A waitress of Asian appearance (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name) recommended the strawberry or mango daiquiri, which we ordered — clearly requesting non-alcoholic versions.
When we received the bill, we were surprised to see we had been charged 335 NOK for two alcoholic daiquiris, even though we had simply been served smoothies with ice. I asked another staff member (possibly a bartender or another waitress) whether this was correct. She seemed surprised and confirmed it was a mistake. They adjusted the bill and refunded us the difference.
Unfortunately, the original waitress reacted very unprofessionally — no apology, just an irritated face and the money was returned to me as if I was being a nuisance. She literally tossed it at me, which felt extremely disrespectful, especially considering it was her error.
The place itself is nice, and the drinks were fine — but this kind of customer service is unacceptable. I hope management addresses this...
Read moreThis is definitely a well earned 4 star rating. Myself and a colleague visited this charming centre restaurant, which in fact does not seem like a typical mall restaurant (No offense to mall restaurants) and we were welcomed with smiles from all of the employees.
Two menus were brought to us with one side filled of Pasta and Pizzas and the other with Tapas and your selected bestsellers, our pick. Both of us chose the Chickenwok with chilli's and healthy vegetables, I asked to get mine glutenfree and without nudles and soy (It contqins sugar and salt) and the presentation was excellent and so were the tastes. The veggues were fresh and chicken was nice with some spicy taste to it.
Only thing was that they had Whole milk for coffee, that's where you lost your star, everything else was on spot. Hooe to see oat, soy or anything lactosefree for an after lunch latté next...
Read moreGenerally an okay choice for solo travelers who want to have a bit more variety on food choices, as they offer a wide tapas menu. Service was quick, efficient and very friendly.
Food mostly came in decent sizes, however, the quality was just okay. The lamb chops were good, though a bit dry. Broccolini in a truffle sauce was the best in taste, however was served only lukewarm. Seafood tapas, both the shrimps and calamari, were not very satisfying. The shrimps came in a small size for the price, seasoned well but quite dry. Fried calamari was bland served without any dipping sauce, tasted like just some low quality frozen ready made fried food.
4 tapas dishes suit one person.
I’d still recommend this restaurant, but maybe just opt for options that are more likely to be freshly...
