The rooms may be fine, I can`t tell, as I never ended up going there due to bad service. One thing I noticed right away when booking a room (via booking.com) was, that in order to be able to make a cancellation, get your money back and dont have to pay right away - you have to pay extra. Id understand if this would be a small place in a less travelled area of the world. But on Lofoten?! I have serious doubts they will have trouble filling their rooms! Anyways, luckily upon booking I did decide to use this option because I was forced to cancel. Its written all over the place how pets are allowed. Only at the very end of the page theres a tiny note that pets are allowed upon request. Well. My booking was confirmed, all was good until I received a message in Norwegian (I dont speak that language....) that told me in a rather unfriendly tone, that pets in fact arent allowed in the room Ive chosen and that only house 7 is still available for the intended time of visit and allows pets ("Check from our website"). Well. Thanks for nothing. So, if someone wants to stay their with their dog - be prepared to put some hard cash down to rent the free standing cottages. Youre not getting your pet into a...
Read moreI did not stay at the hotel, however I did go and eat at the restaurant. I went with my family, and overall our experience was not great. Firstly it took over an hour for the food to arrive. We had some beers so that was initially okay, but we were starving by the time the food arrived - The portions of the food were comparable to starters at other restaurants. We were disappointed with the size of the meals (bacalao, meat of the day which was chicken). I am also vegetarian and there was no vegetarian options on the menu. The only thing they could offer was steamed vegetables and potato. The plus side is the staff was lovely and restaurant was cozy. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the food sizes and wait and they offered free desserts. At this point we just wanted to go home so we...
Read moreWe only used the hotel, so we comment on the restaurant. The view from the rooms toward the town is nice. To walk to the center from the hotel it takes about 1.5km,since it is on the opposite side of the Harbour. The room we had (through booking) included the bed sheets but it was a bit small for 2 persons. Anyway it included every essential item including a fridge in the room and private bathroom and an effective dark curtains on the window. In the common area there is a s kitchenette. Many rooms and cabins available. The owner is friendly and can talk about any aspects of the place! No standard breakfast is available, but after 10am the reception is open and can prepare...
