Ah, those were the days! China Town has lost its touch over the years. I was a fond customer of China Town in Clifton Karachi for many years. As Flu is in the air and my family is also affected, I decided to have a take-out for Chicken Corn Soup.
My mother and wife had the soup and they complained that there was too much salt and MSG (Monosodium glutamate) in it, but I said it can't be and I tasted it myself. To my utter shock, I was in a state where I was wondering whether to throw up or swallow it. I just gulped the first bite down my throat in an uncontrolled paroxysm. I asked my wife to add water and Corn Flour to make it edible.
The point to ponder here is that what happened to the fine standards of China Town? First I checked if there was any complaint section at China Town's page but when I couldn't find that, I decided to write this review instead I am literally shocked to the hilt that I decided to write this review.

Read moreChina Town has an amazing ambience, they nailed it with the art and design. Environment is sanitary. Food quality is decent. The variations of items are fascinating.
The prices of China Town are okay. The value you receive for the food they offer is simply not fulfilling. They lack in quality sometimes too, mainly for the soup. They charge you extra money for paying in card. They don't season their chow mein, I don't know why. It always tasted really bland. Their Chop Suey is weird. It's just a hard brick of dough with chicken?? That is not Original Chop Suey.
Overall, it's a decent place to dine in. The chinese variations can be weird but a lot of their items such as the Masala Rice IS SUPERB, that is one of my favorite dishes...
Read moreYesterday, I researched online and decided to go to China town for my birthday. They have the MOST sucky service , aweful food in tiny servings and was quite expensive, not worth food or service. Once the food was put on table, no one ever came to ask if everything was ok or ask if anything else was needed. We were keft alone to find a waiter and call him for help.I called manager and he was as dumb as rest of his staff. I regret choosing and burning my money at China town.. Please save the trouble of driving and wasting yiur money to chose this place. Instead, choose anywhere else but here. Unless you have not had any better tasting food in a restaurant with trained servers, than this joint and their sucky...
