Del Frio — Restaurant in Karachi Division

Review for Del Frio Clifton Branch Note: This review is for my this visit only. I have been to Del frio in the past and have enjoyed it on multiple occasions. However this has to be my worst experience with Del Frio

1/10 for customer service. After being seated and being given the menus the server just disappeared. Despite calling 2 times there was no response. Got up from the table and went to him personally and saw him on the phone. When asked he stated he would be there. After another 10-15 minutes of waiting, I got up once again and still found him on the phone and when he saw me, he just said 2 minutes. After another 5 minutes he finally came to take our order. Would have given this 0 but as will be explained further on when we complained about our dessert being completely burnt, the server took it back immediately and got a new one for which I increase the customer service from 0 to 1 because that was pretty much the only good thing

Now onto food: Dynamite Chicken 8/10 - When brought by the server, he called it dynamite prawn. When we told him that isnt what we ordered he first stated that is what we ordered but then went back to confirm and came back and confirmed it was chicken which was the case upon tasting as well thankfully. However I already took marks off for customer service so I'll move on to reviewing the actual dish. It was a nice appetiser which went really well with the sauce it was in. However it wasnt warm enough(as will be the case further on as well) so that earned a bit of negative marks

Philly cheese steak panini 6/10 - First of all. Too cold. Seemed it wasnt even freshly made. The fries were cold and hard to eat. And the panini would have actually been really nice if it were warm as the quantity of ingredients was perfect but it being room temperature ruined the experience

Stuffed Chicken with Cheese and Mushrooms 2/10 - If the stuffed part meant it being stuffed with air then I am wrong with the review and they did it right. Upon cutting the chicken there was space in it for stuffing but there was no actual stuffing. The only cheese present was on top of the chicken but it seemed it had gotten rotten. Had a very putrid smell to it. As the previous dishes, it was cold as well. Whatever little marks it has is because the chicken itself seemed it had been adequately cooked at least even if it was cold and every other thing was wrong

Fettuccine Alfredo 5/10 - Del frio is a restaurant whose Fettuccine is a safe dish, neither too mind blowing nor too bad, with a usual rating of 7-8/10. However, this time as with the rest of the food, it wasnt warm which actually ended up making it extremely difficult to even finish the dish. Sadly even the safe option wasnt even safe this time

Water bottle 5/10 - Impressive how you can mess that up but it was not even a bit cold. Would have appreciated the sentiment in winter but makes no sense in this weather.

First Brookie with Ice Cream 0/10 - The brookie was literally burnt all over and so hard that when we tried breaking it with spoon, a considerable force was needed and the piece just went flying off the plate

Second Brookie with Ice Cream(French Vanilla) 7/10 - We sent the first one back immediately and after another half an hour we got a replacement. Thankfully not burnt. Consistency normal like that of a mixture of cookie and brownie(as the name suggests) but surprisingly it wasnt hot. It was weird that even though it was freshly baked it was still only slightly warmer maybe from room temperature. If it had the warmth of a freshly baked one(which i have had from the past from Del frio) this easily could...

I went out with family 5 females and me 1 male to this restaurant at 12 to celebrate my sisters birthday We made it pretty clear that we’re paying by card as I looked at the banner they had at the entrance pointed at it and said yea ur cards on here loud enough for everyone to here as everyone else was already with a waiter we sat down ate and ordered ice cream when we were approached and kindly asked to leave at it was closing time (which obv is completely understandable) so we asked for our bill and told them we would pay with card and showed them the card we will be using which is a bank al Habib signature card which we checked before coming has a 40% discount which is valid till July according to the official website as well as the banner at the entrance When we started to pay the waiter was blatantly staring at my mother putting in her card pin. But due to “network error” the payment was not going through we tried 3 times after which the waiter says that it’s not working as we are getting 40% discount instead of 30 and 30% should work!!?! This left us baffled but we asked him what should we do as it was getting late and we ordered keeping in mind the discount so we didn’t have cash (not to mention the fact that we shouldn’t have to pay full price due to something like this) at this point the manager steps in who tried to persuade my mother to pay full price right now otherwise they cannot close the table and that the payment has to be made right now! Keep in mind it was 1 am at the time. This irritated us as he also said that our card hasn’t been working for other customers as well which is something we should have been informed of before we even sat down as I had made it clear we where going to pay through that card. Not to mention he should have told us this before getting is the bill or at least immediately after seeing the card. Anyways after a lot of arguing we paid them what our total was coming too after the discount and left a GOOD tip and left giving my phone number. During this process the manager refused to take cash payment as we had to pay full price and kept trying to emotionally blackmail my mother repeatedly saying “this is not my problem but I understand but you this will come out of the waiters pay”

Cafe located in Heart of Karachi-Clifton. Del Frio is a name that is unique in itself. Peaceful ambiance ,a wide variety of dishes in menu that covers not only breakfast but also lunch and dinner. The range of dessert is also worth mentioning! . Nutella pancakes were absolutely mouth -watering. Parking is available no issue, card payment accepted here but improvement is required for tea.

Delfrio's new outlet in Com3 Building gives you stunning ambiance with green theme. Parking for this building is paid and plenty space dedicated for parking also payment through card accepted here.

Totally disappointing breakfast experience today, we ordered followings rating with reasons below Shakshuka (4/10): Small serving with big chunks of vegetables, served with hard garlic bread. Hair came out of it that spoiled our time and breakfast. American Sausgae Omelette (5/10): it was okay. Nutella pancake (5/10): just okay because there was no any feeling of fresh pan cakes. Croissant: It was hard. Hasbrowns: Not value for money.

Apart from food there were cleaning issues as well. One customer was claiming tax receipt as cashier didn't give him the tax reveipt though we didn't get the tax receipt too.
