Rating: 1/5 (and that's being generous)
We made the grave mistake of choosing Mailma for our large group dinner, and it was an unmitigated disaster! With 25 friends and colleagues, we were excited for a memorable evening, but what we got was a distasteful experience that left a sour taste in our mouths - literally!
The highlight (or lowlight) of the evening was the cold BBQ platters - all three of them! We ordered a variety of cuisines, but the BBQ was the main attraction, and it was a travesty. The meat was stone-cold, and the flavors were as dull as the service.
When we brought this to the attention of the waiters and floor manager, instead of apologizing and rectifying the situation, they employed delaying tactics that would put a snail to shame. It was as if they were hoping we'd just give up and leave, which, trust me, we wanted to!
The service was abysmal, the food was subpar, and the management was clueless. Our gathering, meant to be a joyous celebration, turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. Mailma, you failed us miserably!
Unless you enjoy disappointment and frustration, stay far, far away from Maylma. There are far better options out there, and I implore you to explore them. We won't be returning, and we'll make sure to spread the word about this...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Malima. The food was average and overpriced. The real issue began when I was mistakenly charged 177K instead of 17K. I was informed that the charge would be canceled and credited back to my account within 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, we were then told to wait an hour and to pay the original bill of 17K. After paying the 17K bill, I was suddenly told the refund would be processed in the morning because the HR team was unavailable.
The next morning, I went back to Malima to resolve the issue. The operations guy was unhelpful and kept repeating that it wasn't their fault. When I met with the GM of the restaurant, his attitude was very unprofessional. Despite the significant overcharge, he told me he couldn't return the money and mentioned that "these small things keep happening," showing a clear lack of understanding of the impact of a 177K charge on a Pakistani citizen. The GM's behavior suggested a lack of experience in managing a restaurant and poor customer service, acting as if he was doing a favor to Karachi by running a mid-quality restaurant with flashy lights.
In conclusion, I never got the money back from Malima and had to file a complaint with my bank, eventually getting the refund...
