Ilyas Dumba Karahi — Restaurant in Lahore Cantonment Tehsil

One of the worst experiences ever. Even though we called ahead to order chicken and mutton karahi (not even Dumba), they were totally confused and disorganised. When we got there, they said we have you order. We sat down and ordered naans etc. after 45 minutes, we asked the waiter and he said the mutton karahi is taking time, the chicken is ready. We said bring that. Another 30 minutes later we asked and got so many various different stories and lies. 1. Chicken we can get ready now 2. Chicken takes 90 minutes too 3. THAT guy forgot 4. Actually you ordered late and came ten minutes after calling (I showed him my call record to prove him wrong). Eventually we got angry and got up. Mr Ilyas himself was outside. When I complained he was least bothered. He also just started shouting around to check the status of the food. He wasn't worried that we got up. Another family of 20 who had been waiting since been before us got up and left too. One of my worst experiences ever. It wasn't even very busy! If you can't manage such an establishment then don't run...

We had a terrible experience at Ilyas Dumba Karahi. We placed our order and waited patiently for almost 2 hours, only to find out—after checking ourselves—that our order hadn’t even been sent to the kitchen on time. According to the manager, it was only forwarded about 40 minutes ago, which was incredibly frustrating given how long we had already been waiting.

The staff, including the manager, seemed completely disinterested and unprofessional. No one bothered to update us or check on our order. When we finally learned that our food (which included lamb) would take another 30 minutes, we had no choice but to leave without eating. Our evening was completely ruined.

To make matters worse, it took another 20 minutes just to get the bill for the few things we had consumed while waiting, like drinks and bread. The whole experience was a mess from start to finish. Ilyas Dumba Karahi seriously needs to fix its service standards and staff accountability. Definitely not...

Ilyas Dunba 🐑 Karahi (IDK!) is the newest entrant on the fast-getting-crowded Bedian Road. Just a few steps ahead of the more established eatery (whose name starts with a G!) which offers a similar cuisine.

Well let me tell me if I am that eatery whose name starts with G, I would be a very worried eatery today. They are living up to their fantastic reputation, crafted over several decades from its origin in Truck Adda.

The namkeen rosh, shinwari karhai and chops are some of the best that I have had. The ambience is top notch, great for families. Especially love the partitioned dining areas for families.

Namkeen rosh was undoubtedly the ⭐ of the show for me. This place, for me has dethroned the G eatery and is now our go to place for no-nonsense fantastic food. There is ample parking given this branch is new.
