In my entire life of 67 yrs I did not get a chance to visit this place. Today one my local friend from Peshawar gave me a choice for dinner and I immediately without any hesitation opted for "Nisar Charsi Tikka". This place is on a very busy place, lot of traffic and rush, finding a parking place was difficult. Some waiter boy helped us and we parked our car. All neighbouring shops are all of same stuff but, with different recipe and taste. Nisar has acquired lot of space on ground and more than that it is 4 story building. 1st foor is reserved for families. We got the place on 4th floor. Seating arrangements are of 2 type; local traditional style of chorpies and a table in between two, the other was chairs and table. We gave the order while sitting on chairs, the waiter told us that the moment chorpies are vacant he will shift us there. The cooking time told us was something like 45 to 60 minutes. With watering mouth we kept on waiting for our food. After the never ending wate finally our sizzling hot food came. Meanwhile we were shifted to chorpies. Our excitement was at the peak. We had ordered mutton karahi and BBQ mutton chomps. We could not touch the food as it was so hot. I asked for a fork, the waiter said we don't have forks. Finally we started eating...... The chomps were so hard that we all could not break them, then we used our teeth to bite, the meat in our mouth became chewing gum. I spitted it out but the other three struggled hard to swallow it. We made a complaint to a passing by waiter, he listened with big angry face. He himself tried to break it but only broke it lot of effort. I wanted to return the dish but, the waiter said he will take it back and make it right but it will take 15 minutes. Mean while we kept on eating mutton karahi. Same was the faith of mutton karahi boties; unbreakable with fingers and not chewable with teeth. I just ate half naan with gravy. The nans had also gone cold and they were stretchable. The other 3 kept on eating with the same effort as of mine. Our host feeling very apologetic and kept on insisting that he can order some other dish for me, but I refused as I was not in a mood to eat more. In desert we got kheer. I was the first one to have a spoon in my mouth and to my surprise it tasted like smoke, I tasted an other spoon and the taste was same. I did not say a word and kept quite. The host took a bite and loudly "یہ جلی ہوئی ہے". Now our mood was at 7th sky. Everyone stopped eating and ordered for "قہوہ". Traditional style small metal kettle and hook less tiny bowls came with sugar pot but no spoon to stir it, a passer by waiter was told to get a spoon, he vanished and never came back. The other waiter was told and he brought a table spoon. Host served the قہوہ. I took the first sip it was bitter, I thought as I don't take sugar that might be the reason. The other two added sugar to their taste and they also felt it bitter and said it is strong today. This was my today's experince. I had a small talk Mr Nisar; owner of this shop, he had no answer but gave lame excuses. I told him that "ہر عروج کو زوال ہے" and Left the place. This was my experience of "Nisar...
Read moreThis place is all social media hype, I would highly recommend to AVOID. Try couple of different shinwari restaurants in your area and they will be good enough / comparable.
Reasons to avoid this place - 1. Dishonesty.
At the time of making payment, Zubair at the counter charged me Rs.1000 extra. When I confronted, he said tax is 17% which came out to Rs.2000. So I asked him then why are you not charging me the full amount? What authority does the govt give you to charge me less? He has no answer.
After placing the order and while waiting we got kawa which was amazing. I asked the boy serving the kawa (also in the video) and he said he can get it. He told me it costs Rs.1800 / kg and the place is 15 mins away. I gave him Rs.2000 to get it. I wasn't going to ask for the change back which he never gave me back. When he returned, it was a packages kawa from a store, which seemed odd to me. I called the store the following day to inquire about prices, it turned out that it was for Rs.1400 / kg.
We ordered grilled lamb, lamb karahi and chicken karahi. The bbq was extremely dry and hard. The lamb karahi was good and the chicken karahi was average. For such average food, we traveled from Islamabad and it was absolutely not worth it.
Accessibility in the area is really poor. Generally there is a long wait after ordering which is justifiable as the prepare fresh from the meat you...
