Bun Factor — Restaurant in Zone 1

Bun Factor has become one of my favorite burger spots. Their burgers are fresh, juicy and full of flavor. I tried a few beef smash burgers and they were all amazing. Green Thunder had a bold spicy kick that I loved, while The Artisan was also nicely spicy but more balanced both were beef smash and cooked just right. For something cheesy, the Pepperoni Pop was perfect. Cheesy, flavorful and super satisfying. In chicken, I had the Nashville Knockout which was spicy and crispy great texture and taste. Then I tried the Urban Grilled, which was grilled chicken with a mild spice and a really good flavor. The staff was too friendly, service was quick, and the overall vibe was clean and welcoming. I recently tried the Shroom Boom Burger, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Right from the start, the burger had a strange smell, and the taste was off as well. Concerned, I informed the waiter, who took it back to the chef.

What happened next was quite frustrating—the chef dismissed my concern, claiming that the "foul smell" was just caramelized onions. This felt more like gaslighting than an actual explanation. I’ve had caramelized onions plenty of times before, and they’ve never smelled this odd. Instead of addressing the issue, they simply brushed it off.

Overall, the experience left a bad taste—both literally and figuratively. Not only was the burger unappetizing, but the way my concern was handled made it even worse....

I recently tried the Dubai Viral Smash Paratha Burger in Islamabad from the Bunfactor which is located in I8 Markaz and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! The paratha was perfectly crispy and golden and the filling was absolutely delicious. My friends also tried different options: One had the Pepperoni Pop which featured a smash patty, cheese slice, mozzarella patty and pepperoni and the other had the Onion King, loaded with smash patty, cheese slice, mozzarella patty, crispy onion rings.
