We sat outside to have our food, and during the cold winter that was an option we should not have chosen as they did not have outside heaters, but regardless, the food was the only thing that kept us warm aside from our jackets.
Now when we arrived the staff were helpful, but afterwards when we needed something, we had to go in to the restaurant to call them, and they did not once come outside to ask us if we needed anything more after we placed our order and neither did they ask if the food was good. Which is why I gave the service a 3 star.
Let's go to the food, we ordered a Chicken Corn Soup (x1); Hot and Sour Soup (x2); Dynamite Shrimp (x1); Asian Bowl (x2); Korean Spicy Chicken (x1); and Diet Coke (x1).
Usually in Chinese restaurants you get served Prawn/ Fish Crackers, at this restaurant, we were not served either, which was a shame, cause that was one of the things that we were looking forward to.
The Chicken Corn Soup was a lot more yellow which made it seem like it had artificial rather than natural flavourings added to it. It also had a lot more corn in it than the chicken and the taste was okay. (6/10).
The Hot and Sour Soup was more peppery and had less colour than the Chicken and Corn Soup, it also had less flavour and tasted bland, I had to add Soy sauce to it in order to give some taste. (5/10).
The Dynamite Shrimp's sauce was much more thicker than I'm used to, but the shrimps tasted good and fresh, so that saved the dish. (7/10).
The Asian Bowls both had good tastes and were well worth the 950Rs. (8/10).
The Korean Spicy Chicken was not as spicy as I was expecting it to be, I had to add extra Chinese Chilli Sauce to it, to give it that extra kick. The chicken did taste good though. (8/10).
Overall, I would skip the soups as they seem to be store bought, I would also skip the appetizers, and go straight for the main course. If they are using one kitchen to operate both restaurants, then I think that's what is causing issues with quality of the food, if not, then they need to find a...
Read moreIt was a wonderful experience visiting China Town.
Location is pretty easy to find just behind Centaurus mall. Ample parking space. Staff was very cordial and well mannered. I did look at their earlier reviews while at the place seems like they did work on the restaurant to make improvements and it can be seen. We were greeted nicely and shown to our table. Nice ambience, warm and cozy. We went to try hot pot at the restaurant and in addition to that ordered dumplings. A little disappointed we were upon learning that the proper hot pot thing would come for a family size dinner given we were only two so ordered individual servings. The spoiler did change quick once we started with dumplings and found ourselves in good mood followed by the hot pot soup. Loved the taste, aroma was good serving was ample for an individual. The food did not give me anything to criticize. In addition to that the mint margarita was really good. The staff was pleasant, they constantly kept checking if we needed anything more but not that they interrupted our experience. Later I needed to smoke so there was an outdoor sitting very nicely lit and decorated to create a gratifying scenery. I ordered a cup of tea and was very impressed by the way it was served. Far far better than most tea and coffee houses I have been to.
Overall the good service, friendly and decorous staff and the food compelled me to write a review about the restaurant. The only negative point was the music being played indoor and not that it bothered us in anyway just that could have...
Read moreCentaurus franchise have moved in i-8,staff has been moved from F-7 Its a new franchise , considering its in I-8 ,the area is small, which is perfect, since OPTP, PIT SPOT, THE PANCAKES share same area. Interior is well decorated, peaceful environment, comfortable seaters.
📍The service: I would say a bit slow, took about 15-20 minutes to serve a single waffle .
📍The Banoffee Waffles:
I like to take my waffles with separat toppings to prevent it becoming soggy. Told them to serve all toppings separately. I overheard staff conversation , the jade cafe person was telling the china town one, about how to make waffles and how to serve it. Even when they served toppings separately , still it was quite presentable.
📍The Waffles were perfectly cooked, edges were crispy, a bot cold, Served with one tiny scoop of Vanilla Ice cream , tasted fine but ice cream should have a little more solid.
⚠️The downside: Banoffee waffle recipe requires to Caramelize bananas in pan which they probably forgot to do and the change was quite noticeable. Staff asked very politely how we found the waffle and it made us forget our little complaint. The tax is quite high, Waffles original price was 450. Damage:660 PKR inclusive of Tax Ambiance:10/10 ✔️ Taste:8/10 due to non caramelized bananas ❌No music ❌No books They should consider it since the taxes are too high. It’s Great addition to I-8, bahria outlet...
