This afternoon we decided to try out a restaurant that we hadn't been to before and ended up at Ruby's.
As we entered we were hit by a strong "fishy" smell as if we had stepped in a fish market. It was quite off putting. Then as we stood waiting for someone to show up and ask about seating us there was no one free.
The dining area was all full with only two small tables empty. One server was with his back to us talking or taking something from the person behind the drinks / coffee counter. He took his time to turn around and come to us. We told him a fourth person was joining us and he assured us that he will prepare a table that was about to get vacated. That too, took time. He brought us the menus as we sat, four of us huddled around a small table.
As we sat we realised how noisy the place was. There was a group of youngsters who were very loud. The music ( not sure if it was on ) was drowned in the noise created by people.
We had to catch the attention of the server to take our orders. We realised that either they are short staffed, with just two servers managing the full restaurant or they are trying to save and not hiring more because these two poor guys were shuttling back & forth. After he took our orders, he got the table ready for us and we sat comfortably. The super crumpled white table cloth looked pretty sad as the napkins and cutlery were laid on. With all the effort of monogrammed crockery and napkins and decent cutlery, I noticed that all table cloths were hurriedly laid on the tables. Some a bit askew, some with threads hanging, some with hems slightly turned. Maybe the laundry guy was on leave.
After waiting for 25-30 mins I got my mint margarita and my niece got her coke. Then after some our shared Chicken cranberry salad came. As we finished that we got our Carbonara, Florentine and Stuffed chicken. We were pleased and relieved to have pretty decent and delicious food even if the wait was unpleasant.
I wouldn't mind another trip provided it's not...
Read moreI recently dined at your restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I’d like to share some feedback that I hope will help improve service and quality for future guests: Hygiene Issues: On two separate occasions, flies fell into the drinking glass, which was very off-putting. Additionally, the table napkins provided were dirty. Basic cleanliness should always be a top priority. Service Concerns: The garlic bread was served only after the soup had already been finished, showing a lack of coordination in service. Even more concerning, after waiting for over an hour, when I inquired about my order, the waiter admitted that he had forgotten to place it. Such negligence is unacceptable in a professional dining environment. Food Quality: The sauce served with the burgers was bland and lacked flavor. For a restaurant that aims to deliver a good dining experience, the taste should be consistent and well-prepared.
Overall, the combination of poor hygiene, delayed and uncoordinated service, and average food quality made the experience unsatisfactory. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving cleanliness, staff training, and...
Read moreSeeing the reviews, I honestly had very low expectations but this place didn’t disappoint at all! The decor was very warm and welcoming. 10/10 for the aesthetic. Their servers were very friendly and responsive. Just a little disappointed that they didn’t serve us the drinks menu at all so, we didn’t get to try those out. We didn’t need to wait to get a table but the place got very busy after a while so the other people had to wait to be seated inside. The appetiser we ordered was halloumi fries (4 mozzarella sticks) which I don’t think were too good for my taste (5/10). The mains, however, were so so so delicious. We got the chicken florentine (100000/10) which was packed with flavour and the texture was very creamy as well! They said beef wasn’t available so we couldn’t try any beef main. We also got the stuffed chicken (9/10), the filling was a little too spinach-y but overall the taste...
