SoHot — Restaurant in Ancón

Overall was a good experience. The inside of the restaurant looks much better than the outside. The outside looks like a fast food canteen type restaurant but the inside was quite nicely decorated with oriental theme. Each table has a round hole in the center for the hot pot. We didn't have hot pot, we had some regular noodle and ceramic pot steamed rice. Portions, taste were good and reasonably priced. The only thing is the table hole made it impossible to sit very comfortably in the center and we had to be squeezed to the ends to utilize the space. They have sauces in one corner of the restaurant for guests to mix their own sauce for the hot pot. The service was very good here. Waiters were friendly and helpful. We would come back again. We did get a negative experience before we tried this place. We were outside in our car, a lady from inside the restaurant came out with a big bowl of water and splashed it on to the kerb, we didn't think that they should had done that. But still, it didn't stop us from trying it and going back again...

This is very likely the best hot pot restaurant I have been to. The facility is professionally decorated with many tables and even individual rooms for privacy. I find that this place has a cheerful ambiance thanks to the bright lighting.

I have to give special credit to the station that houses the ingredients. It is the nicest display I have ever seen. Well-designed, you will find ingredients such as minced ginger, cilantro, traditional hot sauce, and chili powder, just to name a few. On top of that, there is a sign with recipes for making delicious mixes. No hot pot experience is complete without the fun of choosing your own ingredients.

I have been here four times and I am always impressed at the selection. The beef options include items you will not find elsewhere such as shoulder steak, angus beef, sukiyaki beef, wagyu and even argentinian angus. The only bad thing about this place is the lack of parking. It is situated in a busy plaza and parking...

Meat cuts are good, the broths are good as well, the spicy one in particular is a must, but this is the only downside the meat cuts and sauces are good, but some of the broths are plain, but will recomend the spicy broth. The staff helps you out if you dont know the dynamic and they are helpful rescomending good cuts.

P.s.: it is a fun group restaurant kinda place and they have karaoke if you like...
