Honestly, the beat meat I've had in Chiriqui. 👌
I like my cuts medium rare or medium at the most fyi and since Im always skeptical about what they consider what and how it actually comes out of the kitchen I let the server ask me... So he goes, would you like it medium, 3/4 (known as medium well or well done? I told him medium to which he said excellent! That's perfect for this cut of meat (Ok, so this was actually good news)! So I went ahead and just threw out a comment saying "yeah, I actually prefer medium-rare but medium is fine" to see what would happen.
I was going to order the Denver Steak but since the server asked if he could recommend a plate I let him go ahead and do so. He told me they had just received some
Well, when the main course (we were 3, so 3 dif main dishes) came out and I took that first bite I was really surprised. Perfectly cooked and just the right amount of salt (btw, never smoked so I think I have pretty good taste buds for salt levels 😅). The rice was yummy as well, nice and hot and the chimichurri, again, probably one of the top 5 I've had, it was great!
I also tried both the New York and Entraña which is what my friend's ordered. The entraña had less fat than what I usually prefer but it was still really good. The New York, perfectly cooked as well and on point, all 3 meat cuts were definitely prepared the way they were supposed to.
Now, nothing is perfect so let's get to the negative 🥴
It did take a while, not too long like I've had happen at other restaurants here in Chiriqui but it wasn't what I'd consider fast either..... now, both starter plates came out relatively fast so no prob here.
Initially I was also going to deduct a star due to a small hiccup with the water cause we did get asked right away what we'd like to drink and they were served fast buttttt no water until after we had almost finished our drinks and started plates (which had also been served at this point). This was about 20-25 minutes into us arriving and I think it might have been another server or the owner who mentioned it because I remember hearing "water" and us receiving it less than 30 seconds later.
Anyways, why did I say initially? Well, because the rest of the service was on point. So I decided to add the star back. IMO they def deserved it for having service above 99% of the places I go to in Panama. To be more precise, I've only felt that way at about 4 restaurants I can think of in the country.
So yeah, review is long enough... just come here and eat some good meat (unless you are one of those 3/4 or well done people, if so, order...
Read moreWe love Angus House - one of our favorite places to go for lunch when we have to go to David (from Boca Chica).
The decor, service and ambiance are very clean, quiet and welcoming, it is also comfortable and the lighting is excellent.
But the reason we go there is the food - the burgers are large and cooked perfectly to our directions, every time. The French fries are especially crisp and delicious. We’ve also tried their steak dishes (several kinds!) - the meat is always tender and very tasty and we also couldn’t; resist the octopus carpaccio which was wonderful!
We highly recommend Angus House for either...

Cosy and modern interior invites to stay and have a great meal.
In the menu you can find options for everyone although (obviously) all possible meat cuts take the cake ! The food is delicious. I love desserts but after appetizer and main dish I had no space left. Portions are very generous and beautifully served.
Waiter and bartender were very helpful while choosing our drinks and dishes. Patiently answering all the questions and making sure everyone is satisfied with their choices.
I'd highly recommend to everybody no matter if you like stakes or...
