This is a newer hotel on the main road into David, just off the PanAmerican Highway. It's in walking distance to the highway, so it is a great place for travelers without a car. It is clean and affordable. Disregard the posted price at the desk and ask. We paid $32 for the night. As with many Central and South American countries, most people do not speak English, as the staff here. People travel for the adventure, so if you want everything to be like America, do yourself a favor and stay at home or pay more and stay in a resort. Remember, your not in Kansas anymore! We communicated with the clerk with broken Spanglish and hand gestures just fine. The clerk let us see the room before we decided to stay here. ||The room was basic, clean, with cable tv and free wifi. There is no pool, restaurant, or bar here. The bed was adequate for sleeping and other activities. Since a lot of smaller hotels have small water heating systems, it is best to take a shower in the morning or before all the hot water is used up. There is no in room coffee pot or breakfast for that matter, but for the price of a clean room without having to go into the centre of town, you can afford to go out and have breakfast and coffee.. ||There is only 1 plug in the room, with another in the bathroom. We travel with a 3 outlet extension cord just for these cases. Some rooms can pick up wifi, some can't. The clerk showed us where the router is located, so we could pick up a signal. There is a parking lot behind the gate if you have a car. This was a very affordable room in a great location for us and we would definitely...
Read moreFor a relatively new hotel I was hoping for a little more. The hotel was clean as was the room. The service by one front desk attendant was good, but the others leave a lot to be desired. The manager is rude and only speaking with Spanish speakers. He made no effort to establish communication. When asked about the bus stops the response was "taxi only." However I learned all buses run behind the hotel en-route to bus station. Plenty of parking for those with cars.||||You only get a sheet and thin blanket and the air conditioner is regulated at the front desk. The concrete table and stools are not made for using and there is only one plug in the room (with another one in the bath.)||||You may get hot water and it may only run at a trickle. Don't try to shower in the morning as you will find NO water pressure. ||||The hotel rooms are dark as they have no windows and one light bulb was out. When asked for a bulb, the response was, "tomorrow" which never came. They offered no options for breakfast. And, the door did not seem too secure.||||You are only welcome if you are Spanish speaking. Even then you need to withstand a lot. Overall, would...
Read moreThis hotel is cheap, but clean; the building is fairly new, but don't let that deceive you. None of the rooms have windows and all of the furniture is either built into the room or bolted to the floor. The bed is a concrete slab with a mattress on top and a tiny slit in the bathroom wall is the only exposure to the outside. There is AC and wi-fi, but both work poorly and it may take several attempts for the hotel staff to get either one working. The door is thin and looks out into the parking lot, so expect to hear voices, yelling, music, and car alarms all night long. There is only one small lock on the doorknob, the doors don't sit flush in their frames, and there is no safe in the room, so security is not a high priority.||||The hotel is cheap and clean, but that's about it. Don't expect too many perks...
