Picanteria "CHANITO" — Restaurant in Huanchaco

Would give 6 stars if I could! My partner and I really wanted local, traditional food. We weren’t keen to eat on the beach because those places are so touristy and often not as good. We’re so happy we found this place!

We were recommended this restaurant by a Trujillo resident and we loved it. Their fish and seafood are really fresh, prices are moderate and portions are big. The food is the tastiest we’ve had in Huanchaco (they don’t have a set menu though). The decoration inside is nearly non-existent and we could see no sign outside with the name of the restaurant, but in the end these were minor details. We are definitely coming back! Loved this local restaurant and went there three times. Ceviche is good. And also other seafood dishes. I am seafood lover and can tell how fresh their ingredients were. Wished I could try all the food in the menu. Hopefully next...
