It's a nice atmosphere and conveniently located. The chupa de cameron was quite delicious too. Outside of that it was a bad experience. They had welcomed us in, sat us down, and took our order before telling us the kitchen closes in 10 mins (it was a about 4:15pm). We figure they must close 30-60 mins after like most places, and we didn't order much so we could finish up quickly too. After about 30 mins they start rushing us out, giving us our check and hovering around us while we're trying to finish our food. We ask them what time they close and they say maybe 4 or 5, which is frustrating because we would've just went elsewhere if they had posted their hours on Google Maps, or told us that at the door. When we notified them that they don't have their hours posted, none of them said they would actually fix it - they just gave us an excuse about how the closing time varies. On top of that the ceviche used bad cuts of fish and tasted purely of lime with no balance. The pisco sour was frozen too. I would never go there again, it's one of the worst restaurant experiences...
Read moreSupposedly the best Cevicheria in Lima, yet I must disagree. Ceviche was good, yet in my opinion, there are others that are better. If you are not Spanish speaker, ensure to check the price of dish before you order. Better yet, point them what you want to order from the menu. I was charged more for my ceviche, yet I will give benefit of doubt as my poor understanding of Spanish resulted in different type of fish for ceviche than in the menu. If you are not local, they will insist on tips. A server followed me to the bathroom and insist on a tip. I'll put La Mar over Sonia for Ceviche. I regret passing up Rafael for Sonia, yet it could have...
Read morePesimo customer service.
Lousy customer service. We came with my wife from the USA, we arrived at 3:50 pm and the place was closed. We rang the bell and a young man greeted us with a bad face saying that they were already closing. Supposedly closes 5pm. We had taken a taxi from San Borja for 30 minutes. The young man let us enter indicating that they only accepted cash, not a credit card. We sat down at a table and unfortunately I didn't have many soles, I did have dollars. They told us that they did not receive dollars either...????.. The waiter went to talk to the manager and the refusal was resounding. We had to take another taxi back from a hidden area of Chorrillos. Total disappointment, what a terrible...
