Doña Elsa (American Wheat)
5.1% abv - ibu 22.
Roja Con Ayrampo (Red Ale)
5.3% abv - ibu 34.
White Horizon (Pale Ale)
5.5% abv - ibu 40.
Be Kind (Pale Ale)
5.5% abv - ibu 44.
Salvo.

I must admit I like the place, its atmosphere, music, service and design. But unfortunately there are some things that I didn’t enjoy. First of all it started to rain and unfortunately we were not allowed to enter the indoor part of the brewery (I guess because of covid). I don’t understand how is that possible that in a place where rain is something completely common, there is not enough space for all the customers to hide and avoid getting wet. All the tables with roofs were already taken.

Secondly, it’s just too… European? I am not sure which word too use here. Definitely the prices are too high for the local standards so it’s a place for tourists with money. The menu also seems out of space as it lacks the delicious local cuisine (although a plus for vegetarian options).

And what was the most disappointing for me was the beer. I haven’t found anything that would suit my, not that sophisticated after all, taste. Each one of the six flavours were just to bitter but I know a lot of people who love beer from this brewery so I am sure you can find something for yourself. It’s also disappointing, although I don’t think it’s the fault of brewery, that there are no local hops. It’s all imported.

Anyway, I am able to appreciate the effort as the place definitely has its charm that’s why I give it 4 out of 5 and I hope that in the future you will incorporate more local delicacies to your menu and maybe introduce another flavour of beer, a bit...

In 2014 I met the founder and original brewmaster at a beer festival in Lima. I have been wanting to visit ever since. Three years later I finally made it.

Fantastic beer and a great atmosphere. Their beer is my favorite that I have had in South America. Their lomo saltado was also absolutely delicious. I went twice and both times had fantastic service from friendly bartenders. They also have el sapo in the garden, a local bar game where you toss golden coins at a golden toad.

It was very easy to get here from Ollantaytambo. I took a combi, which is a van, that left from the market. Find one going in the direction of Urubamba and tell people you want to get off at Pachar. The driver might forget (or not care), so tell someone sitting next to you. The stop for Pachar should be right in front of the brewery, and you'll pay 1 sol directly to the driver. To get back to Ollantaytambo, walk a bit down the road to find a place with better visibility and flag down another combi going...

: Cerveceria del Valle Sagrado - Peru

Since we also like beer we decided to ask our friend and taxi drives Alex to stop and check Cerveceria del Valle Sagrado while visiting one of the places in the Secret Valley. We got the information from the internet and we decided to stop buy and taste their beer and get some lunch. It was really cool inside, with modern and fun decoration and a really nice view of the huge mountains outside. They offer small glasses to taste their different craft beer that it was really good and they are really friendly too. It was a good break to rest a little after a half day walking around the ruins.

Grade: Eli = 5, Serge = 5 Recommend: It’s a great place to stop by for a good beer, food and wc and the price is...

This Brewery is definitely worth a visit for craft beer fans! It's easy to get to - the minibuses by Ollantaytambo's main square, headed to Urubamba, can drop you at the door for s.1 per person (they leave every 10-15 minutes during the day). The Brewery offers 9 beers, including a choc-mint brown ale that really is worth a try, and tasting trays are an excellent introduction to the beers - s.10 for 5 decent-sized tasting glasses. The "Be Kind" Pale Ale steals the show - an afternoon here, drinking s.12 pints of great beer, would be one very well spent.
