Review V2 Went back last Sept 9, Saturday with the ease of the lockdown at the start of the month Arrived in there a couple of minutes at 3pm and got seated at 6pm so if you plan to go in there for lunch, make sure you arrive at 9 to get yourself listed, they start serving at 11am or 1pm I believe. The menu, just limited with A couple of Ramen offerings and Rice bowls Tried almost all the ramen on their list except for the Hakata Ramen, Ramen prices ranges from 190-300. The good on their ramen is at those price range, the taste and serving is reallt worth it, big bowl, really tasty soup broth that makes you appreciate it more when you consider the price, not the best tastinf ramen in town but will definitely fill you up for the taste and serving size, a lot better than those food bazaar type japanese ramen offerings which are expensive for nothing, this one merits the price. Also nice quality noodles The pork charshu slice is super thin but gets a pass for the price Rice bowls ranges from 190-220, the price is just ok, not asking too much and if you get more than adequate serving size that will definitely fill you up. The best tasting, the curry is just mild, the rice is not high quality japanese rice, it's just good enough for the price and the very well serving size.
My first review was 4 out of 5, I say 4 out of 5 as well for my second review
It's just nice that it's cold out there, making you appreciate eating ramen at an open space.
It is worth the visit? If you just want a good tasting authentic Japanese meal, no. Not worth the travel time and the wait. wait just for nice priced Japanese meal. If you just plan on spending a day with your buddies and want to make moments, probably yes, you can take pictures all around, a bit relaxing when the area is not filled with cars though i think the place is worth checking out but not something that you would consider to visit again anytime soon. PS: Don't come not later than 3pm on a weekend.
Review V1 Went on a Friday afternoon and arrived in there a couple of minutes before 7pm so we weren't able to dine-in and get to experience dining in there, anyway the place really offers more than just Japanese dining but a more immersive overall Japanese experience overall. The place itself and the ambience even at night I think merits this place a visit. The place can only be reached if you have your own vehicle, I advise you make a call to the place itself just to make sure you won't be wasting time going in there and not be able to secure a slot for dining. They only offer first come first serve and a few wait list accommodations at the moment so I suggest you go in there as early as possible since the place can only accommodate a few parking slots and a couple of dining slots as well. The good in it is once you managed to secure a table, you can enjoy the quietness and the tranquility that the place offers, away from the commercial or business areas. Also definitely a great place for taking pictures. Make sure you plan well and...

So... going to this place, I thought I got lost as it was slightly off the usual roads. In the end, I was glad gmaps led me there and was happy I made the decision to try this place out. My experience wasn't perfect, but the food and overall experience made it worth the side trip.
The good. Food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. I can taste the Japanese inspired authenticity of the ramen and the ambience is very natural, which I find relaxing. Staff was very friendly and helped us throughout the order and bill out process. Didn't take that long to serve as well, so 2 thumbs up 👍👍
Some hiccups. Parking can be a challenge. There's ample space but gets cramped on lean hours. Also, I felt they were understaffed and took some time for me to get our bill out. I also think you should bring your own water as they don't serve service water... though the bottled ones are reasonably priced (20php as of this posting).
Overall, it was a really good experience, and I recommend this place when you are within the vicinity (like tagaytay). I don't recommend you go all the way from Manila (like a dine out round trip thing) just to dine here. Make sure you include this place in your next itinerary.
Kudos to everyone in Surugin...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this and finally. Location: 5/5 very nice and homey, like you're visiting an old Filipino home where a Japanese native lives 😅 Service: 3/5 when we got there about 2pm, we were told to wait 45mins since they ran out of some food batch so we waited then they listed up our name. When it was time to order, the family with bigger group was entertained first before us even though we arrived earlier than them ( they parked beside us after about 15mins after our arrival). The staff didn't follow the list. He just based on who was able to talk to him first. I felt quite disappointed actually, what is the purpose of listing guests in order if it will not be followed. Those who served us the food were nice and attentive though. Food: 4/5 We ordered 2 ramens, tempura, gyoza, and chahan. Last to arrive was the chahan, we reminded our order 2x. When we got the chahan my husband tried to smell it. He smelled a hint of spoilage but i said it's nothing and still ate it. The leftover chahan we asked to takeout but just about 1hr of travel, we couldn't eat anymore because it really became spoiled eventually. Overall it was an okay experience. Not the feeling of wanting to come back though maybe bacause of what we experienced. I had high hopes for this place because of good review, but who knows maybe will try again...
