Food Selection -The Twist offers Ala Carte Meals, that are predominantly Filipino dishes -we particularly love their Beef Broccoli, Chopseuy, Beef Bulalo, Pan Fried Pink Salmon -we also love their Greek Salad, Chicken Waldorf Salad; Carbonara Spaghetti Pasta, Spicy Pomodoro Spaghetti Pasta; Grilled Chicken Sandwich; Egg Drop Soup -their desserts are limited, but we usually get the Banana Split -they also have a limited wine selection, but we can order wines from the Le Chef Menu -the serving sizes are OK & the plating of the dishes remain top notch through the years (at least, since we first dined at The Twist in 2013) -the dishes remained appetizing & satisfying -the freshness & quality of the ingredients can be enjoyed with each dish
Service -we've been dining at The Twist since 2013; we usually go there at least 3-4 times a year, sometimes more, usually in groups (between 4 to 12 people in a group) -through the years, the service has remained good; waiting time is decent; staff are courteous, friendly, professional, & alert to our needs
Ambience -given the location, the temperature is great coupled with the relatively fresher air -during dry season (summer), it can get a tad warm at lunch time -generally, the patrons are decent people; however, being that the location is inside a hotel lobby & open to the public, there would be times when some guests (not necessarily diners) would have noisy kids & teens/young adults in the lobby
-parking is enough; if not checked in at The Forest Lodge, they allow diners to park at The Forest Lodge parking area for a PhP 50.00 fee per vehicle (as of July 2021). However, since they closed the entrance near the parking, diners would have to walk uphill all the way to the front of The Forest Lodge to go to The Twist -if taking a cab, one can be dropped off at the reception/lobby of The Forest Lodge
Wish List -we wish that they open the entrance near the parking
Pricing -pricing is just about right given the menu, the service, and...
Read moreGetting a table takes sooooo long, given it was peak season, this is understood. However, the person managing the waitlist can do a cutoff instead of accepting people in the list and telling them that they cannot commit that they can still serve you before their cutoff. One of the hotel staff helped us get a table after we raised the concern. It was discouraging.
The food we ordered were only 4 dishes but it took loooooooooooooooooooong to be served, more than half an hour. They kept on saying it is to be released but to no avail, until we persistently followed up. Then, only 2/4 of the dishes arrived, and we were even served food that was being take out by another table. The manager though offered a fruit platter, but I personally lost appetite already.
Overall, food quality is only okay given that most of the dishes are pricey, nothing special/spectacular; I'd say overpriced. And the service was really very bad. Hope they can...
Read moreThis is a story of 2 meals.
We arrived late in Baguio and had dinner at the twist. Our waitress, Ella was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef kaldereta and it was delicious. I had asked for extra spiciness and the chef got it perfectly. My wife enjoyed her pinakbet as well.
The next morning we decided to eat there again since it is so convenient and good the night before. We were barely greeted by the waiter, who I will not name so he won't lose his job (although he may want to seek a different line of work) seemed to be having a bad day. He took our order, did not fill the water and never came back to check on us.
The breakfast consisted of an omelet, beef tapas and coffee. The cheese was not even melted in the omelet and the "toast" was not toasted at all. Coffee was meh at best. My wife said her tapas were "okay". Very dissatisfied with this particular meal and service. For the price paid, it should have been...
