House of Bangus (by Mr. Dagupeño) — Restaurant in Calasiao

It was by chance that we had lunch at this place. We were planning to eat somewhere else but missed a turn to the place so we decided to continue on and eat somewhere else. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The place looks very unassuming but the service is great and the food wonderful! We got curious with their menu that I think we ordered too much. I have never tasted a more savory sinigang and the bangus sisig is an "MVP" according to my brother who is very picky. The other bangus dishes did not disappoint either. I had high hopes for HoB but it was just ok. The bangus we received were not as big as the Dagupan bangus I’m used to seeing. The original was better than the ala pobre. Don’t get me wrong, you can never go wrong with Dagupan bangus, but I’ve definitely had better.

Service was good and they did their job in trying to upsell us. Since it was our first time there, they succeeded. We didn’t mind since we were there for the food and experience.

I’m not sure why, but there were several flies bothering us as we ate and our tables must have had uneven legs because it was seesaw-ing.

This is a restaurant with different kinds of bangus menu. Our favorite is bangus sisig, but they also have bangus inasal, and pinaputok na bangus, just to name a few. The presentation is so different. You eat in a plate with banana leaves. From what i heard, they have 69 branches all over the country.
