The pizza was good. And the pasta too. ButâŚ
My problem really is with the guy who makes the pizza. His hands were DIRTY. The whole time I was there, I was observing this guy. Not once did he wash his hands - - - while he was making the pizza, he was touching everything with his bare hands â the dough, the ingredients, the pizza crust after he took the pizza off the oven and was transferring it to a plate. Also, there were flies on the counter.
He was also touching the broom to clean/sweep inside the oven, as well as everything else around him. He even went on a cigarette break, then went straight back to his station and made 3 more pizza WITHOUT EVER WASHING HIS HANDS. He even sneezed while making the dough. I felt bad for whoever was gonna eat those pizza.
I saw all of this because when you enter the pizzeria, you can immediately see the counter and oven where the guy makes the pizza. You can see him if youâre seated at one of the ground floor tables.
Seeing this guy at work was enough to make me lose my appetite.
I hope the management will make changes and impose proper hygiene especially during food preparation because to be fair, the pizza tasted good. I couldnât bring myself to take another bite though.
Pizza was good but since I saw how it was prepared (unsanitary), I will not go back to this pizzeria.
I would have given just 1 star but since the taste was okay, this place...
Read moreWe all love pizza and we all have our favorite places where the pizza is just the way we like it. I have eaten pizza in many different countries and restaurants and although I am no pizza expert, my benchmark for a good pizza is one I ate in Sardegna, Italy.
So my wife and I ventured out one evening about 2 weeks ago to check out Frontemare. I had seen an expat review of this place several months ago and he seemed to indicate that this is the real deal.
I ordered the ham and mushroom pizza and my wife ordered the Hawaiian pizza. I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of this pizza and have to admit that it came close to my favorite pizza in Italy. They have a real pizza oven and I feel the owner and his team really know what they are doing.
We came back the following week to try a different pizza (vegetarian) and it was just as good. The server was very friendly and checked in on us to see if we were satisfied or needed anything else.
We did not like the beachside seating as the sand is the typical dirty grey color and there are too many dogs and roosters walking around. But they have an upstairs dining area that is comfy and we liked that much better.
I think the average price of a 12â pizza is PHP400, which is more of an expat price and I was willing to pay this for a good quality pizza. The next time I will try one of their pasta dishes which I hope will be...
Read morePizza was quite good, the pasta not so much.
Got the Carnivore (all meat) pizza with olive added. 430p + 40p makes this a rather pricy pizza for the size of it but the quality is high. Good amount of toppings, good crust that's thin with the exception of the outside edge which is a bit thicker. Turns out good this way with the oven they use.
The pasta dish however, not great honestly. Tagliatelle allĂĄ Bolognese is not good for two as the menu says (1 lady only), so 430p is WAY to much for this. The style sauce is watery, would certainly be better thickened (preferably) and the flavor is uninspired. Toppings are sparse given the high price. Highly recommend choosing something else.
Staff is okay. Though we asked for service water and when the waitress only brought one of us water and we corrected her, instead of just getting the water she made the point to say that we specifically asked for only one water. Not true and I get she was trying to save face but to call us all liars to hide her mistake was tacky at best.
Overall experience was good, would return for the pizza, just not often...
