Dear Shakey’s Management,
I am writing to formally lodge a strong complaint about the horrible experience we had at your Shakey’s Imus branch for a reservation we made one week in advance for our baby’s first birthday celebration.
Upon arrival at 2:35 PM, we were extremely disappointed to find that no preparations had been made for our event. Despite paying an additional ₱4,900 for the Justice League-themed setup, the venue was not properly prepared. The tables were disorganized, and there was no setup at all for the event. The backdrop was missing the name of our baby, and the balloons looked like they were recycled from a previous party and were not even close to matching the requested theme.
What made the situation even worse was the fact that the staff seemed completely unaware of our reservation, claiming they thought we canceled it. This was shocking, especially considering that no one had contacted us to inform us about any issues with our booking. The staff's response was completely unprofessional, offering no apology or explanation. My wife was told, "We thought you canceled," and when we asked why preparations weren’t done, the answer was vague and unsatisfactory. This was deeply upsetting, especially since we never received any communication or warnings about potential issues with our reservation. To add to the frustration, the food was served late, and the games and giveaways were either missing or very poorly organized. It felt like the entire event was rushed and handled as an afterthought, despite us having paid a premium for a proper setup and experience. This was supposed to be a special occasion, and instead, it turned into a complete disaster. We were made to feel embarrassed in front of our guests, who had arrived expecting a fun, organized party. The experience was not only disappointing but also left us feeling disrespected as customers. We expect a formal apology, a clear explanation of why this occurred, and appropriate compensation for the considerable inconvenience and poor service. I would also appreciate a follow-up on what actions Shakey’s is taking to ensure that future customers do not experience the same problems.
