Som Thai Lancaster — Restaurant in Imus

Me and my partner was starving and craving Thai food and decided to visit the Som Thai Lancaster (my favorite spot used to be the Molino Bacoor branch). We ordered Bangus with bagoong rice and Inihaw na Liempo, expecting a whole bangus as per the photo in the menu. However, I was served only half a bangus, specifically the head, which has little meat for you to eat. The server explained it was due to the fish's large size, but the small portion was really disappointing. The Liempo was nice and with reasonable portion size.

The service was also unsatisfactory. The server(Markinson if I am not mistaken), was neither enthusiastic nor accommodating, and he seemed irritated when I asked about the food. I also ordered a pink drink, but he claimed it was unavailable, despite visible packs of Cha Tra Mue pink drink on their shelf. I'm unsure though if they were just too busy to make it or if it was genuinely unavailable.

They also need to improve the ventilation of the place as the smoke from the kitchen drifts into the dining area, affecting the dining experience.

I will give this another...

Love the food! Thai Tea is ChaTraMue, so legit! Also plus points that they grow some of their herbs, so nice that we know it's fresh!

Just a little disappointed about the tom yum noodles we ordered....there were no noodles? 😅 and i got confused because i thought we ordered the one without noodles, so i didn't bring it up anymore. but when the bill came, it turns out we DID order the one with noodles. And all we got was a "ay wala po bang nilagay?" 😅

Don't get me wrong the staff was friendly, but it's just that instance that put me off. But i understand it might be too late when i brought it up. But i just didn't feel they were apologetic enough, considering the Tom Yum Noodles was 300+ pesos and quantity did not match the price. Oh well, lesson learned will double check next time.

Food - 3 Star. Ordered crispy pork and was given another dish. I stated that I ordered crispy pork so the waiter took it back and gave me pork which is not crispy. Chicken was good.

Service - resto looks undermanned. You won't feel any customer service from the waiter. I even asked nicely if I can just take my meal out as the place was full of flies, but the waiter wasn't happy about my request and didn't oblige to pack my food because they already prepared half of it. But the place was really full of flies so I thought they wouldn't mind packing our food if they really want customers to have a better experience.
