I have been going to this restaurant since 2022. They have some good vegan food and the rest is okay in my experience & preference. Some of the food needs some improvements like the tortilla for the fish tacos is too dry. I could barely fold the tortilla in half or else it would break.
This used to be my go-to place to eat in Lazi (since there’s not a lot of options in town) until I had dinner there few days ago. We were finishing our dinner, the lady owner started yelling to other customers talking about some legal matter. She could’ve talked to them in private since it’s personal. The couple were very calm communicating with the lady owner but the owner still yelling & screaming. She was very disrespectful to the couple who has a small child and started crying because of the owner’s awful behaviour. The child got really scared and cried. It was very disturbing to see in person how a person can act like that in public where her paying customers are dining. She’s very childish cus of how she acted defensively when nobody’s attacking her. The couple just wanted to talk but lady owner chose to handle it differently.
I’ve also seen this lady owner few months ago treating her employees very poorly. I’ve also heard that she is not paying her employees the minimum wage. She’s paying them below minimum wage which is bad. That’s why they keep changing employees every now and then cus some of them leave.
I no longer support this business who treat people like this. I suggest to support other businesses around instead of this awful owner who don’t care about their employees...
Read moreFirst the positive things. It's hard to find decent eatable food in the Philippines and this place delivers just that. Burger... now I'm a burger expert so in the real burger scale it's not even close, but I must say I enjoyed the burger. Maybe the best one I've eaten in the Philippines. Definitely will go back for more. Fries are disappointing typical shoestring frozen types. Pannini so so, but considering where you are acceptable. Filipino food was micro portion but quite good. French Press house coffee was quite good. Churros are fresh and excellent. Will try the pizza soon as I noticed they had the right flour for the crust. Didn't see anyone eating pizza so I don't know. House water is free and clean. So the thing that annoys me and my wife is the staff have no social skills or communication skills or are possibly just rude. We were never greeted or thanked for spending our money there. Typical staff behavior in the Philippines. They take your money never ask was everything ok and don't even say thanks for coming to our restaurant. Very poorly trained my guess. The young cashier this morning is totally rude and needs to be trained in customer service and manners. Probably I will just use the take out instead of going inside the rest of my stay here. Overall I think it's wonderful to be able to get decent food here in Lazi. Thanks for that.
Update: i just wanted to say that we ate here many times since my initial review and we did see definite improvements from staff and food. We will definitely return on my next visit to the Philippines. Thanks for...
Read moreAfter our trip to Salagdoong Beach, we stopped by here for lunch. The place is clean and has a nice, cozy ambiance—very Instagrammable and “aesthetic,” definitely photo-worthy! However, I noticed the lighting inside, especially towards the middle and back of the restaurant, is a bit dim. It would be nicer if they added brighter lights to improve the overall vibe.
The staff were accommodating, but I feel there’s room for improvement in their service. A warmer, friendlier approach—like smiling more and being more attentive—would definitely make the experience better.
As for the food, preparation was quick, which we appreciated. The taste was okay, but some dishes need tweaking, especially the western options. The pepperoni pizza was just 3/5 for me. The tomato sauce tasted like ketchup, and I think it could be improved by using better ingredients—maybe adding herbs like oregano, cilantro, and pepper. Some extra toppings like bell peppers would help, too.
The lasagna was a bit too salty for my liking. Again, I’d recommend toning down the salt and adding more herbs for better flavor balance.
On the other hand, the mango banana shake was really good! Refreshing and delicious—definitely a 5/5. The french fries were also nice and crispy, I’d give them a 4/5.
My rating for each dish: • Pepperoni Pizza: 3/5 • Lasagna: 2/5 • Mango Banana Shake: 5/5 • French Fries: 4/5
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here. There’s definitely potential, and with a few improvements, it could be a better experience for both locals and...
