Botejyu SM City Lucena — Restaurant in Lucena

Staff at the front was rude. Left a bad impression on us, it was very humiliating.

Nevertheless, we stayed because, first, it was hard to get a table and it would be a waste after all the trouble of getting one, 'cause second we dont want to make a scene; and lastly, we know that Botejyu serves great food, a rep from its other branches in Lipa and Manila.

Still the food couldnt salvage the bad service we had, especially at the end, where several dishes we ordered didnt arrive but was billed to us, and had to make an appeal just to have it sorted out.

It was very disappointing. The food was great, but the service had a stark difference from the service in other branches. Hope it improves, but until then, my rating stays.

Update: The staff did not improve. Despite having only a few customers, the servers took 25 minutes before approaching us, despite numerous attempts to call their attention. Its 8PM when we arrived and seated. 8:25PM for our order to be taken then served food by around 8:50PM. We couldnt even appreciate the food because the mall was closing. The servings were smaller than the last time we were here. Minus one. Not coming back to...

The wait for the food was long despite ordering small amounts.

The main reason is the poor coordination of staffs, they mistakenly serve our food to other table and the staffs are insisting the food was theirs. While the food took also too long to deliver, we waited another 5-7 minutes for a Minidon to be served and once again they don’t know which table so it is just waiting in the serving area for a a few minutes.

I rate a 5 star on the spot to be polite with the staff since he is waiting for the review to take a photo of it.

I‘ve been to this branch multiple times, this was the first time that it happened here. Hope they can improve...

We really enjoy this restaurant and it’s one of our favorites overall, but unfortunately our experience at this particular branch was disappointing.

The food was still great, which is why we love coming back. However, the cup used for the mango juice looked greasy and rusted, which was very unappealing. We also noticed that the cooks were talking loudly without wearing their face masks properly, which raises concerns about hygiene.

We hope management can address these issues because the food here is worth it, and we’d love to see this branch live up to the standards...
