A Highly Disappointing Dining Experience – Shakey’s SM Marilao Needs Serious Improvement
I’ve always known Shakey’s as a reputable brand, but our recent visit to Shakey’s SM Marilao was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
1️⃣ Cleanliness is a Major Concern – While the tables may appear clean at first glance, the real horror lurks beneath. Under the tables, the floor was filthy used utensils, food scraps, and worst of all, mosquitoes swarming around. The floors were slippery, posing a safety hazard. It’s unacceptable for a restaurant to maintain such poor hygiene standards.
2️⃣ Chaotic and Unfair Service – The waiting time for food was beyond unreasonable. Despite being told that they were “too busy,” we noticed other tables (who arrived later than us and ordered significantly more) were served first. Where is the system? The lack of organization and fairness in service was infuriating.
3️⃣ Unacceptable Delays – Food took way longer than expected, making the entire dining experience exhausting rather than enjoyable. No proper updates, no urgency just constant excuses.
This branch clearly needs serious intervention from cleanliness inspections to better staff training in order management and customer service. I sincerely hope management takes swift action before more customers walk away with the same disappointment we did.
📌 Cleanliness: 1/10 📌 Service Efficiency: 1/10 📌 Overall Experience: 2/10 (only because the top of the tables were clean, but that’s the bare minimum!)
I strongly urge Shakey’s corporate team to inspect this branch immediately. This is NOT the level of service expected from a well-known brand.

Read moreOur recent visit to Shakey’s SM Marilao was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, we saw that the restaurant was quite full, but there were two vacant tables with dirty plates still on them. When we attempted to sit, a waitress told us to wait in the waiting area instead.
However, the waiting area was also full, mostly occupied by people who were just tagging along with diners. We patiently stood for 30 minutes, expecting the staff to clean the vacant tables, but instead, we saw them gathered in one corner, chatting and doing nothing. No one seemed to be in a hurry to accommodate waiting customers.
It was only when a woman in blue—who seemed to be the manager—went near the entrance that we finally got a chance to ask about our wait time. Instead of addressing the situation proactively, she asked us what we were waiting for. That was the last straw—I lost my patience after waiting for what felt like eternity with no action from the staff.
Frustrated, we left the restaurant without being served. This is not the first time we’ve had such an experience at Shakey’s—our visit to the Meycauayan branch was just as bad. Unfortunately, this poor service has left us with no desire to return to any Shakey’s branch in the future.
Management seriously needs to step up in training their staff to be more efficient and attentive...
