Mang Inasal in SM ORMOC. This is one of the worst services I've ever experienced in a Mang Inasal. A lot of the staff are just standing around. They don't offer you soup, chicken oil, chili, etc. You have to get up to the counter. They serve you your food, but I waited over 30 minutes for mine while people who came after me got their food. Staff passed by seeing my number many times, but not one of them asked about my order. I also saw one of the managers chitchatting with one of his friends who were eating. There were so many open tables when I was there, so I don't think they were that busy. Again, so many of them just stand around talking to each other instead of having at least 1 person walking around offering chicken oil, soup and Chile while another walks around offering rice.

I ordered the Solo Fiesta Meal and ask if the unli java rice can be replaced to plain rice instead with no additional cost? She then said yes. Then later she seemed realized that she did not answer the question, well good at least. She then said, Cashier: sir dili pa ni unli rice imong meal. Me: Then that's what I ask you earlier, so how much would it be? Cashier: (punches the order) it would he additional 45 Me: Why? I just wanted an unli plain rice. Cashier: Same price lang sir. Plain rice lang gihapon? Me: I better get the java rice since mao na ako gibayran Later when I was already eating and ask for a refill and to my dismay, it was indeed not the java rice I expected. Never again.

This place has the same menu found at every eatery in the Philippines - chicken and rice - but they seem to do it just a little bit better. I went to the one at Robinsons mall in Ormac tonight for dinner. Many of the selections were not available - like everywhere in the Philippines. The place was pretty busy but my order was taken quickly and efficiently. I went to use the CR (restroom) and it too was out of order. So goes the story of life in the Philippines. Expectations tempered at every opportunity but still falling short - raising the bar while doing the limbo -oh well!
