Review of The Melting Potluck: âââââ
Atmosphere: âââââ
From the moment you step into The Melting Potluck, youâre hit with a vibe thatâs nothing short of amazing. This place is a hidden gem, offering the kind of Instagrammable atmosphere you'd expect from pricey spots that influencers rave about. The decor is unique and vibrantâpots, pans, and kitchen tools hanging from the ceiling, complemented by lush vines. Itâs the kind of place that makes you want to snap a hundred photos.
The ambiance is cozy yet lively, creating an experience that has you wondering why more people donât know about this place. You see so many ads for expensive restaurants, but The Melting Potluck combines exceptional food, stunning decor, and a welcoming atmosphereâall at prices that feel like a steal. It's the kind of spot youâd expect at a Michelin-star restaurant, yet itâs refreshingly affordable.
Service: âââââ
Our server, Tita (or Dora Sobredo, as we later found out on Facebook), was incredible. From the start, she made us feel right at home. She had a fantastic sense of humor, and we quickly hit it off with jokes and friendly banter. I was trying to learn a bit of Tagalog, and she happily joked with me in the language, encouraging me while slowing down so I could catch up. It was such a nice touch that made the whole experience even more fun.
Tita was attentive without being intrusive, offering great recommendations when I asked about the menu and taking the time to explain things. We couldnât stop ordering, and she patiently kept bringing out our choices. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed but so happy with the experience.
Food: âââââ
Now letâs talk about the food. We started with hummus, which was a first for me. It was creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with soft pita bread. I was blown away by how delicious it was, and I immediately regretted not trying it sooner.
Next, we had a refreshing house salad with cucumber, onion, and pepper, along with some chicken strips. Light and satisfying, it was the perfect palate cleanser before our next dishâArayas. These are beef-stuffed pita bread, marinated in a mix of spices and grilled to crispy perfection (though not too crispy, just right). They were best paired with their homemade garlic and chili sauce, which gave each bite an extra kick of flavor.
We also tried their biryani rice with meatballs. The meatballs had a unique flavor, different from anything Iâve tasted before, but absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was a delightful adventure for the taste buds.
The Total Experience: âââââ
What made the experience even more amazing was the price. We probably ate enough for four people, but we only paid for two. The food was incredible, the atmosphere unforgettable, and the service beyond fantastic. I honestly canât recommend The Melting Potluck enough. Itâs now one of my top spots, right up there with the penthouse in Makati and the Hen Resort in Dumaguete.

Read moreI was there to drop a delivery and was greated by a lovely filipina lady (wife of the owner?). Then, the foreigner who I am pretty sure is the owner but not sure of his nationality (russian or arab? :) came out and received my delivery and he was very courteous and warm parang pinoy ang ugali nya... Then I said I smelled the aroma of the shawarma their cooking before I even park my motorcycle which is like 10-15 meters away and it smelled really good. Then he said, thank you...let me have you try for free as in he asked kuya chef to give me 1 free shawarma.. My heart melted kasi na surprise talaga q at hindi pa din talaga q nag lunch at 4pm na... Thank you sir for the very generous act you did for a random (lala) rider like me...mabuhay po kayo and i'll do my best to pay it forward... Keep safe...
Read moreThis is our first time to visit The Melting Pot as it was recommended by Masarap Ba?
We tried their All Meat Shawarma Wrap for 100 pesos. It was tasty and served hot. I like the sauces which gives additional taste to the Shawarma.
We also ordered their Green Salad with grilled chicken, olive oil and cheese for 180 pesos. Good for two.
I like how the lemon combines with olives and bellpepper. It even gives a different salty taste with a sloce of cheese.
And for our refreshments, we ordered Guyabano and Mangosteen both woth slices of apple and a pinch of lemon. 85 pesos each. Really refreshing.
The ambience is quiet since we went there at 2pm. This place is mostly crowded at the evening. So if you want to eat quietly and enjoy their instagrammable place visit them...
