I’m not always a fan of filipino cuisine but TRES raised my fondness for filipino food in a whole new level!
Our server, Andrei, made the experience so much better. He carefully explained the dishes with enthusiasm and attended to all our requests. Thank you and kudos to you! Request for him when you dine in TRES :)
We ordered the ff: • Ampalaya Salad (10/10) there was no bitter taste, taste like a crunchy atchara salad with fried small shrimps. Sarap! The acidity balances the grease from the other fried foods we ordered.
• Bulaklak Nang Sisig (10/10) this was so unique! Think a reinvented fried sisig shanghai! So good! The pinakurat dip also complemented the dish. Must try!
• Crispy Pata (10/10) Crispy pata is a classic filipino dish but they executed this classic dish so damn well. The meat was fork-tender and the skin was extremely crunchy. It was also very meaty unlike order crispy pata that’s full of fat and tendons.
• Inihaw na Hito Kabayaki(10/10) Omg we were surprised by this! We almost thought the hito resembled Unagi through mouthfeel. Sarap! Melts in your mouth and super flavorful.
• Dinuguan na Baby Back Ribs (8/10) This was a unique dish. Fried spareribs coated in a dinuguan sauce. It was good but it was a tad salty.
• Spiced Seafood Bihon (9/10) This is not your regular bihon. Tastes more like a seafood palabok! Sarap! I just hope they used a different kind of noodle so the sauce and flavor could be absorbed better. But nonetheless, good!
• Chicken Kare Kare on a Stick (10/10) Like a filipino chicken satay! So good! Chicken was tender and had a good flavor. Must order this!!
Overall, my whole family loved all the dishes. This resto could actually beat Manam if they continue to expand their branches and maintain the food quality and service.
P.S. -1 on atmosphere as there were lots of flies. Hope they could improve on this.
Will surely be back ❤️ thanks for a...
Read moreDined here for Father’s Day at lunch time. Got there around 11:30am and it was already full with people. Chairs for waiting were limited so some opted to sit at the food hall tables and chairs. It was for about an hour before we finally got called and seated.
Serving was fast! Almost no waiting time actually. But we just got overwhelmed because our orders kept on coming before we even got to taste the previously served one 😅
Sisig (4/5) It was okay, nothing special. It wasn’t sizzling when served.
Pakbet (4/5) The taste was good and flavorful. Vegetables were nicely cooked
Lechon Cebu (5/5) My fave out of everything we ordered. For me this was even better than the crispy pata!
Volcanic Pata Kare Kare (4/5) Very unique experience! Minus one point due to personal preference because I’m not really a fan of kare kare.
Chicken Tinola (5/5) This was so, so good. Loved the herby and flavorful and right amount of sour taste!!
Garlic Baby Squid (4/5) Same as the sisig, it was okay and nothing special. The squids were nicely cooked! Not overcooked :)
Sisig Adobo Rice (3.5/5) I was expecting a lot from this dish but couldn’t even taste the adobo...
Read moreI didn't expect it to be an extraordinary dining experience but it was. It really was!
Pros: The main menu was packed with familiar dishes but with amazing twists that elevated the Filipino dishes we already loved. Stand out for me was the Ginataang Inasal na Manok P495 and Bone Marrow Adobo Sisig Rice P385, the latter was so good we had to order twice. The Crackling Lechon Cebu P485 was amazing albeit the serving is not huge. On the contrary, I expected the Beef Bulalo Junior P695 to be small, but lo and behold, it was big and great for the price. The desserts we had were ok. We ordered Kapeng Barako Tablea Cake P195 and Citrus Flan Naked Cake P155. Not bad, but not memorable either. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The manager we learned was a fellow Bicolano. Great job! Note: Prices are in mid to high-end range but I think they're justified. They have indoor (with couches) and outdoor (but still air-conditioned) dining options. They honor pwd and...
