Not a good place for family dining. Their very small function room given to us supposedly for 15 people normally would accommodate only 10 people that is why the big chairs are so crumped up giving the guests no room to move around. In fact, our elbows are already hitting each other while eating. 3 hrs is the maximum allowable time to stay in the function room wven though you want to eat & drink more. They seem to flush you out of the room after 3 hrs. If you exceed the 3-hour limit, they will charge another 500 for 3 hrs without informing the guests that the 3-hr limit has been exhausted. Seems that they are doing it purposedly in order to make money. There is no waiter/waitress inside the function room to take the orders or no prompting bell to get their attention for additional orders. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FAMILIES TO DINE IN THIS LOUSY...
Read moreA spontaneous late lunch with my college friends led us to discover Verena's Restaurant, a delightful little eatery tucked away in Don Antonio, Quezon City. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. While the restaurant's decor was charming, it was the food that truly stole the show. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including spaghetti bolognese, crispy pata, bulalo, pancit canton, and fried rice. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, offering excellent value for money. If you're looking for a satisfying and affordable meal in Don Antonio QC, I highly recommend Verena's Restaurant. I'm already eager to return to explore more of their delicious...
Read moreme and my dad went here for lunch and here are my thoughts:
ambience: i like that hindi ganoon karami un tao. i enjoy the peace of dining. great space, maliwanag and ang ganda nung garden nila. di nga lang kami doon umupo kasi di naman puno un restaurant.
price: for a fine place like Verena, I can say it's affordable. dishes served are good for 2-3 persons.
food and drink:
chocolate batirol: sweetness is right for me. the waiter/chef checked if okay sakin un lasa, so i appreciate that. i was expecting the drink to be thicker, though. this batirol is liquidy. it is served hot, with a side of milk.
calamansi juice: i appreciate that the sugar was served on the side and not mixed with the juice so we can control the sweetnesd. refreshing.
pasta bolognese: i ordered it for myself but can serve 1-2 persons. meaty, taste is balanced, di maasim. i find it a little greasy but i believe olive oil naman un. naubos ko kasi masarap naman. but i hope the bread is a softer one. un bread ko kasi is like savory biscocho.
garlic parmesan wings: served hot and fresh with 2 dips. crispy and juicy. i think nag-linger pa ung taste nung pasta kaya dko malasahan un garlic parmesan.
bagnet and tokwa: sauce/dressing tastes classic, so good un. the bagnet was crispy pero dry na sya kasi manipis masyado.
pansit canton: the bagnet topping was crispy and juicy. pansit is saucy and the noodle was al dente. sana pinalambot pa nila ng kaunti.
adobong pusit: ok sana presentation pero pagkakain ko ng pusit, hilaw pa. matigas at madulas. mahirap talaga masterin ang luto ng pusit. di naman na kami nagcomplain. initin na lang namin sa bahay.
overall experience: it was still a delightful lunch. and nagulat kami sa presyo kasi it was lower than what we estimated. we were attended to by staff and serving times...
