Gerry's SM Telabastagan (Gerry's Grill) — Restaurant in San Fernando

This branch is not as good as others I've been to. The food is acceptable but the dining experience overall, is not. The menu is a small piece of paper with the names of the food/drinks listed. Almost half of those selections are blacked out, meaning not available. There's no descriptions of the items. I ordered the liempo, stuffed fried chili sticks, garlic fried chicken, chop suey, chicken kebab with no bell peppers, fried kangkong, root beer and gulaman. The waitress told me the kebabs are already skewered so I couldn't get them without bell peppers, I changed to boneless chicken bbq. Wait 25 minutes for the food to arrive. Meanwhile I finished my root beer and ordered a 7-Up. A few minutes later the waitress returned to tell me the 7-Up was out of stock. It's well known that restaurants make their profit on beverages so it's kind of surprising they ran out of 7-Up. My chicken bbq had a texture like it had been boiled prior to grilling. We recently dined at Gerry’s Grill as a group of 9, and the experience was wonderful! The staff was accommodating and efficient in arranging seating for our group, ensuring everyone was comfortable.

The menu offered a fantastic selection of Filipino dishes, and everything we ordered was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Favorites at our table included the crispy pata, grilled squid, and kare-kare – each dish was fresh, generously portioned, and authentically prepared.

Service was attentive, with staff checking in regularly despite the busy atmosphere. The food arrived in a timely manner, and the vibe of the restaurant added to the experience – lively but not overwhelming.

Bad experience today from this branch. Inaccurate orders and food items tasted differently from how they were before (told the waiter about it). In addition, order arrived after more than half an hour, followed up thrice but the first 2 waiters did NOT come back to update us, only the 3rd one came back to provide an update. I hope all waiters are like the 3rd one. Getting the bill was also a pain. It arrived after about 15 minutes (had to follow up twice and the second time, I had to approach the waiter and cashier already). Hope things improve.
