Jochen's Euro-Bread & Delikatessen — Restaurant in San Fernando

It was my second visit to Jochens. We had the Schnitzel and the Bratwurst. Schnitzel was ok, slightly on the dry side, but the Bratwurst was quite salty. The sides, salads, fries, etc., are good and show detication and generosity.

We bought a couple items from the shop. The prices are high and the quality is average. Sausage, salami and cold cuts again...salty...the sausage skin is quite chewy. I do my own sausages and there are better ways and options to produce a nicer sausage. I was wondering a bit that there was no pork crackling to buy. This could mean that the skin is going into the products.

The bread, in our case Ciabatta, is not impressive at all. It was very brown...the bottom even very dark...and overall dry. And I already chose the brightest looking one. The taste was stale and I had the feeling of minor fermentation to achieve just enough fluffiness in the crumb, could be also an average flour. Couldn't judge the crust, since I had the feeling and have to assume the bread was sitting in the shop for a couple of hours.

My two visits are 10 years apart. The exterior didn't change at all. We even got the same table/location at our second visit. The ceiling is messy and not upgraded since long. I was constantly concerned about insects, their excrement or other things could fall into my food.

Reservations are required and it is busy. I don't understand the hype. There are better food options available with healthier food, at better price and in nicer settings. It is like a must go place if you are of German, Swiss or Austrian descendents.

I would go again only if I would have visitors who really have to try German food at an...

Had the worst service. waitress were lazy.unlike before we went there for a late dinner. It was my favorite restaurant but not anymore. We were about to sit on a table with a good lighting but they insisted to seat near them since it was too far for them. We requested a fan to be turned on and we got sad and tired face. We asked the waiter if there was a lot of customers earlier.trying understand them. And they told us there only few in the afternoon. I don't usually give a review this long but I just wanted to vent out how...

Says it was open. We got there at 1pm. NO ONE EATING.. TRIED TO RESERVE EARLIER BUT NO INTERNATIONAL CALLING. TRIED SENDING MESSAGE THROUGH FACEBOOK..NO RESPONSE. WAS TURNED AWAY DESPITE TAVLES RESERVED FOR THE EVENING. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. WASTED MY...
