Giligan's — Restaurant in San Jose del Monte

The table that we were at smelled quite a bit. I had to douse the seats with alcohol to get rid of the smell.

We ordered chop suey, pork barbecue, k-squid, and vegetable kare-kare.

The verdict: Kare-kare - 1 out of 5. The servings are bad, the taste mediocre, and even the fish paste (Bagoong) is weak like it was ridden with extenders. Chop Suey - 4 out of 5. The vegetables are crispy and fresh. And they were tasty. K-Squid - 3 out of 5. Good portion, tastes ok. Pork Barbecue - 5 out of 5. Bang for the buck! The taste and portion were very good for the price. Rice - 3 out of 5. It's a hit or a miss. Some are too watery/moist and the others are just right.

Service - I had to speak to 3 staff before I got my extra order. The resto was just half full.

Most of the crew in this restaurant were not approachable, which made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Even the branch manager, Gab, did not bother to greet us properly. he simply placed the plates on the table without a word, appeared distracted, and went straight back to the kitchen. When we tried to call the staff to place an order, no one acknowledged us. They only glanced our way and returned to what they were doing, as if customers didn’t matter. This kind of service felt dismissive and unwelcoming, especially coming from both the crew and the manager. As paying customers, we expected at least a basic level of courtesy and attentiveness, but unfortunately, it was completely lacking...

Foods are good, can't say anything much abt it. I just hope there were more options for kids. Service is kinda slow and we're not really satisfied. Upon entering no one welcomed us to get a seat, we looked for our own. Upon ordering, we need to call multiple times, my partner even went to the counter to tell them that we're going to order. Serving time given was 15-25, mins but it took abt 40vminutes to serve the food but this one is forgiveable since the foods are freshly cooked when served. The cr is a bit dirty though and there's no tissue. All in all, foods are great but they can improve the service to make the atmosphere feel...
