Mario Mio is truly Cavite’s gem. I kinda regret that I knew of them only recently. They’ve been in the business na pala since 2017. Now, this will be one of my go-to restaurants when going to Tagaytay. Here are my recommendations: 🍕Stefano’s Panizza ₱480 - thin focaccia bread topped with sun dried tomato, shrimps, chef’s special cheese sauce, and arugula leaves. The cheese sauce is so good and the creaminess is balanced by the arugula. Eat this as soon as it’s served to prevent it from being soggy. 🍝 Linguine al Tartufo ₱480 - creamy truffle pasta topped with prosciutto. 🍕 Pizza alla Terra (all meat pizza) ₱ 480 - 12-inch pizza with Italian sausage, mortadella, salami Milano, and spicy salami. Really good thin crust, which was soft but crisp enough to hold all the toppings in place. This is a well-made pizza. 👌🏼 🥩 Costata di Manzo alla Griglia (Ribeye steak) ₱750 per 100 grams - USDA prime grade ribeye served with side salad and grilled potato wedges. Well-seasoned, good crust, tender, and very flavorful. Serving is big enough to share, especially if you’re getting other dishes. 🍰 Panna Cotta al Miele Tartufo ₱320 - with honeyed truffle syrup and sweet balsamic vinegar. Well-balanced and had the right firmness without being rubbery. This was a perfect ending to our meal.

Location: Inside Monteluce in Silang. Area is windy and has outdoor seating. Menu: Rustic Italian. Varied soup, steak, pasta, Italian style pizza, mains, and sweets. Wait staff: Neat and very attentive Separate gender CR that is clean and well maintained Food: Vegetable Minestrone is perfect, very aromatic, and light tomato based. Seafood soup was equally refreshing but a tad salty for hubby. Caesar Salad was basted enough and had blue cheese hints which works for me since I hate it when other restos flood their salad with dressing. Spaghetti Pescatore was served al dente with squid and tahong. Duck Tartufo Ravioli has huge portions. Seabass was served with Tartufo Risotto. They stuck with using Arborio rice that made the dish nutty and chewy but had less liquid. I like the Panna Cotta Shooters with Honey and Balsamic reduction. It was something new and very creamy. Kids loved the Chocolate Semifreddo for its flavor and consistency. Ribeye at 450gms was good for 2 really hungry diner or even 4 diners who ate other dishes. Loved it. Now we have good food to come back to when in Tagaytay

I believe 3 stars based on my visit experience is being generous. There are parking spaces within close area to the restaurant. I would suggest that if you are coning to the restaurant especially at weekends - phone and book in advance especially if you want to sit indoors. The menu is reasonable content but this is a higher end cost restaurant. Sadly there was numerous items not available which was disappointing and both food and drink - very disappointing as it was only 12 noon on a Sunday. The quality of the food seemed to be good although the taste of thr meat with the pasta was different. The cost for 4 people was 8000php which I thought was costly but 1 person did have steak. The washrooms was single spaces for men and women with a joint hand washing area. The toilets were painted I'm a dark colour and smelt quite strongly of disinfectant. WOULD I RECOMMEND? Leave you to make thr decision, maybe if you are passing - but fir me not a place I would make a special visit. WILL I RETURN? Doubtful

We used to go to this resto and it usually wasn’t full. So we went on a saturday, got there by 6:45pm and inside, 1 table (for 4) was still available & so we went in to ask if it was indeed available, and a female server just waived her hand saying saglit lang. So i went back out to tell my friends that i think they needed to check first. Then another server approached me to ask if we have a reservation, to which i said no. Then we asked if the remaining table was reserved & they said yes. So we said we can just dine at the outside tables (which were all empty). Then she proceeded to say, okay lang po ba magiintay kayo ng 40mins bago makuha order niyo and another 30mins for cooking/serving time? To which we contemplated at 1st, but since we were already there, we said we were willing to wait. So she handed us some menus and we chose our food. She said she can only take drink orders for now as the kitchen is backed up. We asked for some bread as we were hungry, to which she replied, ay wala din po magbake pa. So we just browsed the menu while killing time. Then all of a sudden (7pm), the server said, i can take your orders na po para mapila ko na. So we gave her our orders. Then she she came back to give us water & said, mag last order na din po ako kasi til 8pm lang kami open. So we were surprised because, kanina sabi 70mins kami mag wait for our food yun pala 8pm closing time na? And sabi namin, diba may nakareserve dun, 7pm wala pa sila pano yun? Bigla “nag cancel daw kasi traffic”. Didn’t even bother to offer us to transfer inside to the available table esp since malamok outside. Then we decided to transfer instead to a diff resto, & we told her to cancel our food. Check daw niya, then biglang gawa na daw salad & pasta sauce & appetizer, pizza na lang macancel if ever. Not even 10mins has passed, sabi kanina 40mins pa before they can start cooking our food + 30mins before maserve, tapos bigla ambilis, pagdating pa nung bread toasted siya not even freshly baked. They were just trying to shoo us away para siguro di sila malate mag close to go home. They didn’t expect na we’d stay instead. Really bad service. And i feel bad for the owner for not knowing that’s how his staff treats customers. If they really wanted for us to leave, sana sinabi na lang agad na closing time nila was 8pm and fully booked sila para we didn’t waste our time there only to be...

FOOD - Good! except the seafood pasta. Pizza love it! Truffle pasta, Great! STAFF- Needs improvement.

We were able to dine here during the Christmas Holidays but it was almost as if they were just forced to accept us. We did not have reservation but I tried calling and messaging them a day before but there was no answer. Staff was insisting that maybe i called the incorrect number but it was the number display on their social media pages. Also, their FB messenger allows you to make booking but apparently they still have to confirm. Why make online booking at all? if you still have to confirm and no one even monitor it? So we then asked if we can dine outside since the all tables inside were reserved, the staff were looking at each other whilst we were standing there. It was very uncomfortable. But they agreed finally. Most items on the menu were not available because according to the staff, there were no deliveries and that they were closed the day before. There were also a family that arrived shortly after us but staff refused to let them dine, even though there were multiple seats and tables still available outside. Hopefully, the management takes note of this because the food was quite good.

NOTE: Indoor dining can get very smokey when they are...
