High quality food with some non ignorable issues.
I considered giving it 3 stars given the variety of little problems, but that wouldn't be fair considering how many far worse restaurants score over 3 or even over 4 stars.
On my first visit i've ordered a short rib which was perfectly tender but didn't have enough salt penetrated and i didn't find a strong demi glaze to be a good alternative since each bite gets less salty when you swallow the sauce while chewing the meat. It was covered with flowers which were hard and not that tasty. Salad had some raw rhubarb which was too tough for a salad in my opinion.
Second visit existed of 3 courses A good steak tartare which was a bit overseasoned for my taste with salty ingredients making it hard to taste the meat but that might be just a matter of personal preference. between the courses i've noticed a sticker stuck to a piece of lime in my limonade resulting in it being removed from the bill. Second course was cappelletti filled with mushrooms served with sabayonne and freshly grated truffle. I found the sabayonne to be a bit overpowering with salt and sourness, but that didn't make it a bad dish just worse than you would expect from a dish made with good ingredients. after i've ordered some non sparkling water i've gotten some lightly sparkling water which was switched immediately. Dessert was a lavender panna cotta with honey and crunchy oats which is normally a part of a 3 course lunch but it cost me only 5 PLN, only detail i didn't like was that it had little/no sugar in it and you had to manage honey distribution throughout it manually.
Staff was kind and responsive. they also let me in the second time after i asked a customer if she is single while i was leaving...
Read moreWell... that's a hidden gem in Lublin. At the very beginning we were positively surprised by the friendly and professional staff. The advice of the wine was really great. Welcoming starters were a tasty way to increase the appetite.
Now to the food. Beef tartare was one of the best I've tried, and I've tried a lot. The service is also brilliant. Cannelloni were delicious, a perfect taste. Bourguignon was well cooked and soft, we loved the hot, probably horseradish, finish on top. The fish was pretty tasty and originally served, but very disappointing because of a lot of bones inside, though we were assured that fish fillets are served boneless.
The desserts. We tried ice cream: flavours are very surprising, you just don't expect an ice cream with the taste of hay or asparagus. But it was delicious, really.
Overall, it's an amazing place, decorated and furnished on a great level. Food is more than delicious. Prices are pretty okay, I can't call this place expensive, compared to the food they serve. Parking at the restaurant might be tough, but c'mon, taking a 100-200m walk is worth the experience.
P.S. Please, fix those bones in the fish 🐟, or just don't tell people that it is boneless, it ruined experience from incredibly perfect...
Read moreMediocre!!. is the word that comes to mind to describe the place. While the individual elements of the dish are good, the dish itself does not come well together.
My chocolate lava cake for the desert was burnt. You could smell it from the table next to you. I told the waitress about it and the initial reaction was "Thank you". I told her again after paying the bill and this time her reaction was "Sorry!. I guess. we will not do it next time ???. ". Mistakes happen in the kitchen. The least you could do is to atleast own them. This seems like a young restaurant I wish them well. Take my review as point of improvement for just in the kitchen but also for the people who interact with...
