We have visited this establishment twice, but there isn’t a great chance we will go back. Not sure how this place is surviving with the overwhelming quantity of amazing restaurants in the neighbourhood. Food used to be better, now it’s way below average. Majorly overpriced (lamb burger 39 PLN for instance). The burger was made of poor quality over salted lamb. Same goes for Cevap which didn’t taste like lamb at all. The burger came with five super fatty deep fat fried burned thin cut chips - no salad whatsoever. Kids option - deep fat fried panco chicken with supermarket fries - 28 PLN. It’s sad to see there are no other healthier kid options, especially because the restaurant is kid-friendly... When it comes to desserts, these are also majorly overpriced and very poor quality. We ordered baklava with ice cream which is a weird combination to start with. The tiny piece of “baklava” (which amounts to half a portion you would get in any kebab shop for 2.5 PLN) came in a little jar filled with terrible tasting cheapest supermarket ice cream, half teaspoon of crushed halva and 3 grapes for 19 PLN... we thought that’s a bit of an exaggeration especially for the worst baklava we’ve ever had. Pretty disappointing...
Read moreWe keep coming back: Ruza Roza has great food and good service. The Salata Szopska with Balkans cheese is always a delight. And I love the Szobanska Pljesksvica, a cheese filled mutton meat loaf. It goes very well with their home made, spicy Ajvar. My wife’s a fan of the fish soup and their pistachio cheesecake.
Older review: Spontaneous date night with my wife. We enjoyed:
Pitiki Balkansku Serowa z Gruszka - that’s the cousin to a pizza in the first pic. Nice dough, melted cheeses and a red chutney with thin slices of pear. An interesting combo. I added some slightly spicy homemade Ljutenica sauce and was delighted (not that it’s possible to eat the whole thing, the serving was just too generous).
Pyrlenka Kaszkawal are made from a yeast-free dough, they cone stuffed with cheeses (or other fillings, as you like) and are accompanied by fresh dips.
The salad was sprinkled with a layer of light fluffy fresh cheese, and an absolute delight.
Service was attentive and very friendly, and the prices are moderate.
Definitely worth...
Read moreGreat place for dinner in the heart of Saska Kępa district. At first glance doesn't look very appealing from the street but each step deeper into the restaurant makes you feel you made a good choice. Food selection is perfect with limited but amazingly tasty dishes. Definitely not for those who avoid meat. Also dishes are rather spicy to very spicy but there is at least one which is not - good for young kids. Service is very professional and very honest - rather a rare thing in this business. One cons is a lack of parking space, but it's a city center so you can't expect to park in front of the door! Highly...
