We walked in at 4pm... A difficult time to have a nice lunch anywhwere, as restaurants won't be serving a normal meal... We were pleasantly surprised with the amazing space, both indoors and outdoors where we chose to sit, with ambiance pleasant music in the background, and the glass large front door amazing views of the river front, the perfectly framed Vasco da Gama bridge, and Lisbon on the distance! And, the best is yet to come! We were offered the option to have appetisers, not main lunch or dinner dishes, and... after a quick read of their Menu, we chose "Picapau" (dices of fried meat served in a "soup" of garlic and buttery lemon sauce with fresh herbs... We then inquired if we could order a tomato sliced and seasoned with Balsamic vinegar and traditional Portuguese Olive oil, and a side order also of fried potato chips. When the latter arrived, we were super happy to notice these were NOT frozen chips, but traditional "real potato chips"! The Portuguese sliced selection of bread was another pleassnt suprise: besides white and brown fresh bread slices, it included also a slice of "broa de milho" (a traditional and tasty corn flower based bread). To finalise, some house wine, served by the glass...
And we had an amazingly tasty meal for 2, which cost us less than 25€, all in!

In short, if you go to Alcochete for a day of shopping at "FreePort" (a very pleasant Duty Free shopping outlet), or just a day out for a meal, don't miss this still relatively unknown "hidden gem"! You wont...
Read moreWe had an exceptional dining experience at Restaurante Salineiro in Alcochete. The food was delicious, with beautifully prepared dishes full of authentic flavor and generous portions. From the starters to the main courses, everything was fresh and perfectly cooked.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff were attentive and friendly, always making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of.
Their wine selection is excellent and pairs wonderfully with the menu. While prices may be slightly above average, the quality of the food and service absolutely justifies it.
Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be...
