Tried to get a table last night but no space so we had high hopes when we arrived for our reserved table tonight. We were not disappointed. Seated straightaway and our gluten intolerant group member was cuddled with understanding while having her options explained. We waited 30 mins for the food to arrive but each of us thought it was worth the wait. Three burgers, one rump steak and a "menu a" devoured. Desserts were just as good. Best food we've had so far while walking the Rota Vicentina - Fishermen's Trail. The fried prawns cooked in a wine and tomato sauce with garlic and parsley are literally finger-licking delicious! As mains, we had the prawn stroganoff and the grilled sardines special and both were absolutely delicious. I can only highly recommend this place. Everything about it is great: staff, service, food... I rarely leave reviews but felt this place deserves to be known. We had steak and a burger, the steak was a bit tough and totally unseasoned but otherwise ok, the burger was underdone in parts. Salad was really not good. The desert selection was not too bad and the cookie-cake quite well, otherwise this would've been a one-star rating.
