First of all - the Ambiente and Design is nice. The Pastel de Nata, we had better once, the filling wasn’t creamy, it was stocked a little bit. Where Humans are working, there can be Mistakes of course. But, there is a But. We where 3 People sharing what we bought in the Bakery. Because of that I cut the Bakery in Pieces. And on one the Photos you will see what I saw. Also nothing bad there, because that Bug found a Way thru Mistakes of somebody. The But is how I was treated after showing the Lady behind the Desk what happened. She offered me an Exchange and I saw that Sandwich, that looked nice - so I decided to take that. Afterwards she charged me the Difference of the Price. And that’s why that landed here. CUSTOMER SERVICE isn’t that what I got there, Hospitality Service would not take Money if you found a Bug in your Bread.

Stopped by randomly while driving to Lisboa on the more scenic route from the south coast, and had a very pleasant meal. Ordered a few of the bakeries offerings, found everything to be very tasty and well made. Cappuccino’s were very good, and the service was prompt even though it was a bit on the busy side. Happy with our experience for what we paid, about €14 for two to have 5 items along with 2 coffees.

Sadly I have to say that Pao de Rogil uses the complete range of unnatural colorings, sweeteners, acidifiers, aromas, emulsifiers and more that you do not want to find in something to eat. Read the labels of their products. Its sad and unhealthy. I love Portugal for their still natural based baking goods and food and I hope Pao do Rogil will find back to that.

We were drawn to this cafe as it looks quite nice from the outside. The interior is inviting and the food looks tasty. Sadly, that’s where it ends. My partner is Portuguese and chose a few classics to try, including the coconut bread with ham and cheese inside, croissants with ham and cheese (forgive my naming of the food items - I can’t remember their Portuguese names!), pastel Nata etc. he was not wowed at all, and he knows good food. I chose a few empanada flavours to try, which were made way less tasty by the fact that they were cold, and tastes like they’d sat there for days! We also got a couple of flavours of sliced bread and cookies to takeaway. All of which tastes stale as well… don’t be deceived by the exterior - there are far better traditional...

Pao do Rogil has been refurbished and it has definitely gone up a few steps to be the top cafe, bread, snack and cake shop in the area. Both inside and outside have undergone a major refit and it's a real step change. Today it was full if hikers had a a real buzz and our favorite cake is "o bolo com alforoba e pimenta rosa". It's amazing and something really different. Well worth s visit if you are walking on the Rota Vincentina or just passing through to one of the fabulous beaches on...
