Wish I could give 0. We had just had our car break down and were so tired from waiting on the tow truck people, so we walked over for some coffee and a snack. We walked in and said hello and owner just frowned at us and she ignored us, so I took a photo of the menu to translate it into English. She immediately started yelling in Portuguese pointing at the menu and at her eyes and saying “no phone allowed” and implying i had to read it myself not take a photo. I thought she was joking at first but she was getting upset. I kept saying “English sorry!” and showing her the translation i had taken and she kept yelling. As we hurried out to not disturb her further I left my water bottle by accident and she was yelling at me some more. No idea what she was saying but it definitely wasn’t nice. Baú do Chà, casa muito estranha! Entra -se e ou nao há nada ou pouco mais para se comer ou beber. Muito bem decorada e como anfitriã tem uma senhora muito simpática mas já com mais de 80 anos. Muito debilitada e forçada a trabalhar. Por quem? Pelo filho? Em pleno Verão não tem um único gelado e não foi por se venderem todos. Não teve ainda este ano. Por vezes a senhora arruma as mesas com umas chávenas de chá, uns salgadinhos e tira fotos para enviar ao filho, a pedido deste, diz ela. Tenho pena da D. Antónia que já merecia descanso e está ali a trabalhar sabe Deus porquê. Deviam averiguar. O BAU...

Agradável espaço e muito acolhedor, aberto até às 20h o que permite um prolongado chá de final de tarde. Apenas não gostei do pão da torrada que comi por não se parecer nem saber a pão Alentejano, conforme me tinha sido indicado pela funcionária já de longa idade mas muito querida. Em termos de variedade de pastelaria, esta não é muita e talvez fosse necessário apostar significativamente neste...
