An authentic little Portuguese experience! If you're going to see the statue of Christ, I'd 100% recommend calling here after for lunch for the menu do dia! There is no menu to actually look at, and nobody spoke English. You chose either meat or fish, which was then cooked on the bbq before your eyes. You choose a drink, and bread, olives, salad and either chips or potatoes are brought to the table. Then there is a homemade dessert included to finish. Nice fish which is cooked on a barbeque.

They don't speak English but the staff are nice and the food is good.

Prices are comparable with other local places. Not too expensive. We paid €10 for a meal of fish, potatoes, salad with olives and bread, including a soft drink and a shot of espresso afterwards.

Also it's nice that they're open after lunch (so you can go for a very late lunch) when most other places are closed.

This is such a lovely, truly local tavern (tasca) or small restaurant. The food is excellent — we had sea bream and sea bass. They also serve snails, and if you want to try them, you’re in the right place! They are incredibly flavorful.
