Our FAVORITE meal, hands down, during our trip to Gerés! The restaurant is extremely charming but the food & service is the highlight! Pedro, who owns the restaurants along with his lovely wife who does the cooking, took great care of us! It was a joy to talk with him & hear his story. I have no doubt that anything you choose off the menu will be spectacular but do yourself a favor & try the Cachena! It is the breed of cow in the area & we've never had better meat. So flavorful, tender & with perfect roasted potatoes. The alheira was absolutely divine also! We talked about this meal for days & will definitely be visiting again when we go back to Gerés! ...

We had lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday, and it was quite crowded. Unfortunately, the seating was not very comfortable, with stools that lacked support. By 1:30 p.m., only two dishes were available: Cachenha grelhada and Grelhada mista. We ordered the Cachenha grelhada, but the meat was not as tender as expected. We would suggest serving smaller portions for sustainability and respect for the animals; we couldn’t finish our meat and noticed many people were also leaving meat on the plate.
