HOKO — Restaurant in Braga

Beautiful restaurant with great service and solid food, but the menu needs better organization for dietary preferences.

I visited this sushi bar with my girlfriend, who isn’t vegan, and while I expected to find good vegan options, they were not easy to locate without reading the entire menu or asking the waiter. The food itself was high quality, and the standout for me was the shiitake sauté—perfectly roasted with a deep, umami flavor.

I also tried a miso soup, vegetable gyozas (good but nothing surprising), a vegan temaki, and a 12-piece vegan sushi selection. The sushi was enjoyable, though about what I expected. Dessert was a caramel fondant, which was a nice way to end the meal.

Service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. For example, when I dropped my napkin, they replaced it immediately. The only minor issue was a delay in getting my second beer, but considering how busy the restaurant was, it was understandable.

The ambiance was beautiful, and I can see why the price reflects the setting, but overall, I felt the food, while good, didn’t fully justify the cost. I am very bad with names, I order sushi by looking at the visual and recognizing it. I can usually understand what I don't like from the visual. There are no visuals of the products at all. When I look at Google images, the ones there are usually wrong, she said. Also, although I speak English, I was constantly answered in Portuguese. Since it is such a fancy restaurant, can't even one person speak English? She said we will close it in the end and suggested something herself. They brought sushi with gold on top of caviar, saying it was the chef's choice... It didn't even taste wow. I just said ok. While they should have even given me a 3D visual of the product with ai, it is my right not to choose sushi just from the name. If my girlfriend wasn't very hungry, I definitely wouldn't even try it. In short, if you are craving sushi, you definitely can't eat it after seeing it. Know...

Bem... bamos começar.. (até com erros gramaticais sabe bem...) e estou a fazer critica por outra.conta porque pelos vistos os meninos pagam a google para rever as criticas negativas

Entradas.. Chichar um feijao verde sem sabor é  "cozido" ( não se pode eacrever palavras nortenhas nestas críticas... pessoal finness) Pedimos um menu degustação para mesa... Poças (con dois rr) uma peça para cada um? Ficava mais barato pedir individualmente. Pedimos águas... vieram depois dos pratos... se tivessemos entalados... previsavamos de uma manobra de heimelich.

Repito... pedimos um menu degustação e atenção foi dada toda a uma mesa cheia de meninas todas turbinadas... e o gajo não as comeu... se soubesses quem estavas a servir!!!!!

Espaço é excelente para levar uma uma moça (nao encontro palavra melhor anyes de ser bloqueado pelo filtro oago pelos meininos) e impressionar... a "moça" passa fome e depois tu trns que a alimentar... activa a tua imaginação.

Pena não estar aberto aos domingos de manha... 7h da manhã para curar a ressaca do bozen ou do dona rosa. Nem a sobremesa estava incluída no menu de degustação.... "coza-se" .. a sério 500 paus e passas fome e sede.

Passei fome... (fui comer ao café do Luís umas batas e uma sande de osso buco paguei 8 euros e soube que nem ginja). Valeu pela loiça que é bonita, de facto... As casas de banho são lindissimas... pena nao servirem lá. Se eu viesse a um restaurante (onde se come) e viesse só ver a arquitectura e a decoração... top. Comer caro por migalhas "palavra cara que nao posso escrever aqui" ide enganar o outro. Tirei fotos mas nem  publiquei... uma vergonha....

Boa sorte... vale pelo facto de ser um sitio instagramavel mas despois passem no Burger King que fica mesmo em frente. Se vierem almoçar passem no lidl e comprem pão com massa mãe e manteiga... saiem mais saciados.
