Boa sorte cascais — Restaurant in Cascais

We visited for dinner with our three small kids (age 3, 6 & 8) and we ordered 2 sushi buffet’s (€16.95 each) and 2 main Chinese dishes plus an extra rice. The food is acceptable here, nothing amazing but fine. (It’s actually really hard to find anything other than bad Chinese food in Cascais, so you can’t be too fussy) The Sushi was also fine quality for buffet Sushi.

We found the Chinese staff to be rude and way above their station as a buffet Chinese/sushi joint. Within 2 minutes of the food being placed on the table my 8 year old was told off for eating two gyoza from my sushi plate and we were told very firmly that we could not share our sushi buffet with our kids. Now don’t misunderstand me, no one likes a punter coming in to a restaurant with 5 people, ordering just one eat all you want sushi menu and then sharing it with all five people, but really Boa Sorte, learn to apply some judgment here. We were a family with three small kids, we ordered 4 large main dishes plus an extra rice. We were not hungry work men coming in to eat five plates of sushi, we probably ate between us the same as some people would eat on their own. Shame on you for being focused on the wrong things, for lacking in any kind of judgment and making your customers feel horrible and poorly served. I suggest that you save your gestapo like scrutiny of what your customers are eating, and your reprimands, for those that are actually taking liberties of your buffet menus.

We left €62 later lighter after a very average Chinese restaurant meal and feeling annoyed and overspent for the experience.

The food was very good, but I got ripped off. We were there for lunch (3 people) and opted for the buffet (all you can eat sushi). The lunch price and dinner price are different. We chose some items that were from the dinner menu (not knowing). They explained this to us and did not serve them to us. They later told us that if we want items from the dinner options we could order and they would just charge us the dinner rate vs. the lunch rate. Best Chinese restaurant ever! Delicious Chinese food, perfect environment, and friendly waiters! The first time I went there I got so surprised, how can a restaurant be done so well!? The food are just perfect and I really recommend their fried chicken with almond, rice noodles with shrimp, spring rolls, and THE BEST OF ALL: TEPANYAKI!!!
