To start I have to say that it is not a bad restaurant or even that food is bad. But I come here with high expectations based on some friend recommendation. So I was really expecting to be amazed with the food and... I was not impressed at all. We tried one starter and two different main courses. Any of the three was capable of impressing me. To be honest, I found it all very regular. The fish tacos I even found poor. The service is the best because the staff was really friendly, despite the fact that they don't speak Portuguese, but Spanish. Now, the atmosphere is also very poor. Outside, you have a few tables in the middle of a residential area, no view, a road with cars passing by in front, a neighbour dog barking all the time... so it's not so nice or cosy. Inside I just took a fast look but it was a very simple small place, like a normal cafe. So, in conclusion, it was very average in all terms. Can't say it is bad, but for sure,...

If you’re looking to learn and experience authentic Mexican flavours then this place is for you! Completely away from your average burrito / chilli con carne tex-mex restaurant that you find on every corner of this earth (and not really what Mexican food is about).

The flavours in this place will take you on a journey towards some of the best icons of high-end Mexican cuisine. This all done at a level that blows some restaurants in Mexico City out of the water. There’s nothing better out there in this city than Hoja Santa.

Would recommend 100% to everyone looking to experience and learn the true mexican culture. (Speaking as someone from Mexico 🇲🇽)

Keep the...

Hoja Santa is a gem of a Mexican restaurant. The amazing food, crafted by an authentic Mexican chef with Yucatan roots, brings exceptional flavors to every dish. The Pibil is a standout, showcasing the chef's heritage and the Baja tacos and Ceviche are exquisite, offering a delightful blend of flavors. The bar menu is equally impressive, with fresh shaken margaritas and inventive South American twists on classic cocktails. The friendly and helpful staff add to the overall charm of the place. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Hoja Santa for a culinary journey you won't...

I have been wanting to come here for awhile, and today I decided was the day. It was MORE than worth it! Someone is really paying attention to detail here. The decor was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and super helpful, and the food was truly exceptional. The cocktails though…incrível! I had a Black Sour and it is absolutely one of the best cocktails I have EVER had!! The presentation was sensational, the flavors perfectly balanced, and the smoky mezcal made it extraordinary. I cannot recommend this place enough. Treat Yo Self!!!

Great Mexican place. The staff were super friendly and helpful with informative explanations about each dish. It was all beautifully presented. The cocktails were pretty nice and matched the food. The standout for us was the corn main dish which I cannot remember the name. The 'la joya Mexicana' had a very good guacamole. The 'queso, mole y maiz' was also delicious. Doesn't look like much from the outside but was a great experience.
