Sassoeiros Grill — Restaurant in Cascais

Our family's first dinner in Portugal and it was AMAZING! Our waiter Joao was very friendly and hospitable. First we had appetizer: different kinds of bread, olives, cuttlefish, cheeses, butter, and sausage. The cuttlefish, olives, and sausage were out of the world! We had cod, salmon, dourada with red wine. They were served with vegetables, olives, and potatoes. All were delicious. Joao even gave us a free cream of broccoli! Even though we were full, Joao convinced us to try the layered chocolate cake. After trying it, my older son proclaimed, "I was full but I am not full anymore." The cake was just surprisingly delicious! We sat downstairs (quiet and easy to have conversation) but we saw the dining room upstairs (noisier but pleasant atmosphere). This place was so amazing!!!! The steaks we had were perfectly cooked and so tasty. We had the Lombo Maturado and the Posta Mirandesa Dop off of the owner Joao recommendation and they were both so amazing!! They came with rice and a bean and sausage mix that was such a great side and went with the steaks so well. was such a good host made such good desert recommendations we got the farofias and it was so great! He even let us use hos hotspot to order an uber because the wifi wasn’t working and let us refill our waterbottles. This place is so worth...

The place has a nice terrace facing the afternoon sun. The garlic bread was pretty good, and it came with cheese which wasnt mentioned on the menu.

The Caiprioska was pretty weak and wouldn't recommend.

I asked if the Piano de Vitela was pork or beef as I really wanted some beef. I was told it can come either way, but it was very much pork when it arrived.

The portions were pretty small and the feijão wasn't so good. It also comes with potato chips, rather than freshly cooked batata fritas.
