La Lombonera — Restaurant in Cascais

As South Africans we love our steak. We've been searching for a great steak since we arrived here in April 2024. After complaining to our personal trainer Diogo Martins about lack of good steak in Lisbon, he suggested we visited his brother's Restaurant and guaranteed we would not be disappointed. He was absolutely correct. We ordered the sharing platter that had 4 different cuts as a main. We had French fries, mashed spinach, roasted vegetables and mushrooms as sides. The mushrooms were extremely memorable.

We started off with cheese prepared in Argentinian style. Baked in an oven and served piping hot with Melba Toast on the side.

It was my son's 15th birthday and they baked a divine chocolate cake for us.

The service was more than excellent and the staff really fussed over us with special attention as it was my son's birthday.

We did expect a fun and nice atmosphere when we found this place on Google. We were surprised how it is tucked into a nice neighborhood within the center of the beautiful and unique Estoril area.

It is an impeccable gem which I will recommend to anyone who asks for a great place to have supper when they visit the region.

The atmosphere seen in the photos online hails in comparison to what we experienced. The personal service, delicious quality of food, great decor, and even down to the music selection were every single thing which we could ever imagine in a beautiful, quaint night out.

For highly demanding carnivores. The meat is definitely the winning argument in this well presented menu and overall experience. Very caring staff and thoughtful service in a modern and soothing atmosphere with a touch of charisma. Recommended for families and groups it is large without ever becoming impersonal. But in my view the meat is the winner. Carefully chosen, carefully treated and properly served, the meat is the reason to keep coming. The price is the fairest possible considering such quality and attention put into it's main attraction, the meat. It won't disappoint any self respecting carnivore. This is my first impression.
