First, the waitress did not speak a word of English, so the idea that we could have had any meaningful discussion—let alone raised our voices—is absurd. Second, the potatoes were not “lightly grilled”; they were completely burnt to the point of being inedible. The so-called “management being on top of the incident” simply meant that the waitress told us that blackened, charred potatoes were “normal.”
At no point did we ever suggest that we would not pay for the dish, despite the fact that the cod was so overwhelmingly salty and burnt that we had to send it back. The reason it looked the way it did when returned was because I had attempted to scrape off the burnt parts in a desperate effort to find even one edible bite.
As for your claim that there was a “full house” of witnesses—there were exactly two other couples in the restaurant: one who didn’t understand Portuguese and another who walked in as we were leaving.
Frankly, it’s embarrassing that instead of owning up to serving a poorly prepared meal, you resort to personal attacks and outright lies. A professional establishment would acknowledge mistakes and improve, rather than attempt to gaslight customers...
Read moreVery nice environment, the music was great and the decor was on point. I went with two other people not knowing what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We had the cod "à brás", the "cação" soup and a "Páteo" burger, all was them were of great look and taste.
The staff was extremely interested in the business and very nice, they answered all our questions with a smile too.
It seemed like a great place to stop by, I'm hopeful to having the opportunity to come back at another time, maybe checking...

Confesso que por aquilo que por aqui li, não me agradou a postura do proprietário, por mais razão que tenha e que não dúvido, não é admissível que se responda com prepotencia, arrogância e até ofensivamente, como no caso em chamou mentiroso a um cliente, entre outras coisas menos abonatórias. Existem outras formas com mais moderação para responder aos comentaros menos abonatórias sem ser necessário baixar o nível. A postura do proprietário é também ela um cartão de visita para cativar os clientes, a par da qualidade da confeçäo dos alimentos e da simpatia dos colaboradores para com os clientes, o que não dúvido de todo dessa qualidade na confeçào e na simpatia dos colaboradores... Mas a prepotência de um proprietário de um estabelecimento perante comentários menos abonatórias é algo que me causa apreensão.
